12  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Homespun...What to do? on: September 28, 2007 11:44:13 PM
My mom seems to like hard-to-work-with yarns. She bought one ball of LionBrand Homespun because she liked the color and told me to make something with it. I've casted on and frogged numerous times, looked at Ravelry for inspiration, but nothing. It might be just that I hate this yarn, but no pattern looks good in it. And I don't want garter stitch or drop stitch or ribbing. I've done enough of those.

Please, any suggestions?
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What scarf can I make with this yarn (No garter stitch, please!) on: September 26, 2007 03:42:57 PM
A long time ago my mom and I went to Joanns to get some yarn. This yarn was on sale and my mom liked it (Huh) so she bought two balls of it for me to make into a scarf for her.

So, a year later I found this yarn again and want to get rid of it already! I don't want to do garter stitch though, but still want to show off the yarn and not make it too busy/crazy.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Anybody have a heart chart that looks like this? on: September 22, 2007 07:21:13 PM
I fell in love with this and just have to double-knit one. Anyone have a chart like that?
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Nevermind! I really do need help on my Calorimetry! on: September 20, 2007 09:31:38 PM
I searched and found instructions on how to do Row three of the Calorimetry.

Quote
Sl 1, work 3 sts, place marker, work to last 2 sts, turn work.

I followed the advice of slipping 1 purlwise, then knitting two, then purling one, placing the marker, then purling one, and then continuing the k2p2.

My ribbing turned all wonky after that.

Please help!!!
17  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Good Housekeeping steals embroidery hoop art idea! on: September 14, 2007 12:14:29 AM
I was flipping through my mom's Goodhousekeeping magazine and one of their design/home ideas was to put fabric in embroidery hoops! I know I saw this on here or somewhere else! I wonder if they got it off from here.

19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Woven Headbands-How? on: September 09, 2007 01:14:13 PM
I was browsing the hipgirl forum and saw this post. I love the woven hairbands and was wondering if there were any free how-tos out there?
20  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Need help with Ballet Stencils on: September 05, 2007 03:36:39 PM
I am making a present for a friend and would like to know if anybody has stencils that look like this, this, this, or this. Or maybe even pictures that look like it that you could turn into stencils for me?

Thanks! I really appreciate it! Kiss
