1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Portal Warning Sign Paintings on: December 20, 2009 11:20:20 PM
I've been obsessed with the game Portal ever since I laid eyes on it. And for awhile I've been looking for something to fill the empty space in my hallway wall.

So I decided to paint the warning symbols from the game on these lovely 8x10 canvases! Michael's had a 10 pack on sale for 20 dollars! Then with the 40% off coupon, who could pass that deal?

Now anyone who walks down my hallway knows the dangers that await them. And there will be cake. O.o

Made with simple acrylic paint. lined up it's a little over 40 inches wide! I'm in love with it! Now all I need is a companion cube.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Another Nintendo pillow! on: January 22, 2008 02:44:03 PM
I LOVED Viciousedge's nintendo pillow (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=221678.0)! My boyfriend saw this and begged me to make him one.
So I did!
This was my weekend project and I think it turned out wonderfully! I have to thank ViciousEdge for her idea! They're super comfy and even match the colors in my bedroom!
Here they are (there's actually 2 but only 1 is pictured)

Thanks for lookin' and please check out ViciousEdge's version.. her pillow is the inspiration!
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Zombies Ate My Wall! on: January 06, 2008 09:08:49 AM
I've finally decided to paint my bedroom. But first I wanted some art on the walls. I needed something a bit unisex for my SO and myself.
Well, since we have a slight obsession with Resident Evil and zombies... what better way to decorate than with the undead!

So I scoured the internet for a good zombie picture and found this guy - http://zombiedollars.nikholmes.com/zombie-gallery01.html  (4th row; last column)
And with a little bit of experimenting and some free time I came up with this!

And then a close up of Mr. ZombieFace

I'm in love with it! I'll post pictures once the rest of the room is complete!
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Pokeball Ornaments! on: December 02, 2007 11:22:15 AM
Wow, so my friends and I are more nerdy than I thought.
We were discussing Christmas when my friend decided that I should paint him some Pokemon ornaments.
So here are the Pokeball ornaments! All 15 pokeballs, too!

From left to right:
Dive Ball
Timer Ball
Master Ball
Luxury Ball
Great Ball

Quick Ball
Repeat Ball
Net Ball
Ultra Ball
Nest Ball

Finally we close with the
Dusk Ball
Safari Ball
Heal Ball
Poke Ball
and the Premier Ball

They're only about 2 inches tall. I wish I would have given myself more time to make these. There's so many things I could have done better! Oh well. I still like them and so does my friend. That's all that matters!
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / More video game perler beads... on: November 11, 2007 02:46:04 PM
So, I've been doin' this whole Perler thing for awhile now. I found a stash of all my old creations and decided to hang up some of my favorites. I have a large blank space of wall above my love seat and decided they would be best there! Take a look..

Woo! That was a mouthful.. This "wall art" will be forever growing!
Thanks for lookin'!
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Cactuars on my head! on: November 07, 2007 08:41:07 PM
So, i was shopping online for hats when I remembered genkigang.com.
I've always loved her hats. Anytime I found one I wanted, I would just make it!
So here's my Cactuar hat. I made a couple of adjustments and I just love him!
What do you think?

I'm on vacation so excuse my sleepy look. Vacation = no makeup!
I'm starting a Jigglypuff hat for my Pokemon swap partner tomorrow. I hope it will be cute as well.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Mini top hat for Rocky Horror on: October 27, 2007 05:12:29 PM
Well, tonight I'm going to see a live performance of Rocky Horror Picture Show. I didn't have enough money to make a costume but I knew I needed something odd to wear.
What better than a mini-top hat!

Now, I'm obsessed with peacock feathers (my grandmother has 2 on her farm so i get free feathers by the truck-load) and I knew my hat HAD to have them on there.

For using stuff around my house to make this, I'm pretty proud.

And a close up in case my poor pictures don't show up well. (I don't have a camera so I have to use my iMac)
You can tell i LOVE green...

Thanks for lookin'! I'm off to the show!
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Hottie Pin-Up Playing card dliema! on: January 20, 2007 06:34:07 PM
I have two sets of Pin-Up playing cards. I would love to use them for decorating my apartment. I thought about coasters but i already have some nice ones.. I'm stuck! Any ideas would help out! Thanks in advance!
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Old 70's chair into New 70's chair! on: January 20, 2007 10:19:24 AM
Hello! I'm new to craftster but have been reading the posts for awhile now. I finally got the nerve (And the time) to revamp my old kitchen chairs. They were given to my boyfriend and me when we moved into our apartment.

Here is the chair as it was given to us...

And here is it after I got my hands on it...

Here is a close-up of the fabric I used. It's more of a mint-green and a chocolate brown than the picture suggests. I don't have a camera so I had to use my iMac. Cheesy

There are 4 of them and we're very happy with how they turned out. I used the rest of the fabric to make a table runner. I might post a picture of it later. Thanks!
