1  50s dress help in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Kittymoose on: June 22, 2009 09:43:06 PM
Okay, I'm completely obsessed with the 1950's. I want a classic 50's housewife day dress (or many, but we'll see). Anyways, I'm not the kind of person that can just look at something and make up a pattern. (Only did that once with an apron). So...Here are a couple pictures of what I'm looking for, does anyone have an idea of where to find similar patterns/tutes? Thanks! Here's what I'm looking for:

2  Re: Guys & Dolls (1940s / 1950s) Swap in The Swap Gallery by Kittymoose on: June 19, 2009 12:46:54 PM
ahhh its taken me wayyyy to long to reply. thanks for uploading those pics for me, grenouille. This is the only camera I've come across that has a special cord, not just a standard one. Anyways, Since you posted pics, I'll post action shots??

(I also loved that we send each other aprons of similar fabric Smiley )

Forgive the unhappy expression. I recall me trying to show off and BF making fun. Me: "Just take the picture already grrr!" hahaha.

Yummy coke out of a pretty pinup girl glass Smiley

I also got a matching head scarf, which I wear while I'm cleaning and doing laundry. BF teases but I remind him that I'm practicing for being a housewife and his demeanor softens  Cheesy

Anyways, sorry this took sooo long but thanks for everything grenouille I LOVE IT ALL Smiley

3  Re: Twilight: The Movie Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Kittymoose on: November 22, 2008 12:37:44 AM
I'm glad you liked everything rockstr009. And as far as my sculpting talent, thanks! Actually that was the second one. The first one I got so mad at that I threw onto the floor.  Cheesy

Anyway, here's my wonderful loot from rockstr009!

Excitement!

Bookmarks with tags that say my name, Edward, and Bella, and Lion and Lamb ornaments (going on my first very own Yule tree!

Knit box to hold things

Bella's first aid kit. Ironic because I'm actually a very clumsy person and will probably make good use out of it Cheesy

Inside the box Cheesy

Etched glass candle holder, this one says Twilight, and the other two say Edward and Bella.

And a cup cozy! She hand-sewed it, and I'm really amazed by your hand sewing skills!

4  I killed a perfectly good skirt in Stitch And BOTCH by Kittymoose on: June 25, 2007 11:52:24 AM
So, I found this pretty paisley, gypsy printed skirt at a thrift store for like a dollar. I get it home and it fits great, but its one of those that fits on the waist, and the gathering made my butt look HUGE. So, crafty me decides, "well, I can always recon this, and just cut it to fit at my hips, take it in a little. perfect. Except I forget all about the gathering, and I don't actually know how to do gathering. So i end up with this:

Given that I ruined the waistband trying to salvage the elastic, I can't just add that back on. And given that I don't know how to do gathering, I can't just add that in. How do I salvage THIS?

5  Peace paint journal in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Kittymoose on: January 26, 2007 04:55:28 PM
I made this using those little paint-sample things you can get at wal*mart. Or anywhere really. It's hard to tell from the picture (it was really hard to find good lighting) but the background is varying shades of blue and purple, with a bright orange peace sign. I just used a regular notebook and taped them on. I wanted to use glue, but we didn't have any. My only problem now is finding something to put over the cover so nothing gets bent/falls off  Cheesy
