So this is my first attempt at designing a tattoo flash type cross stitch.. I was pretty pleased with it.. Let me know what you think.. I have another design already designed but haven't had time to stitch it yet!
This is a quote from the movie 'Step Brothers' while watching it the other day I thought how hilarious would that quote be hanging on a wall.. equally funny if you are or are not a doctor as John C. Reilly's character isn't a actual doctor in the movie when he says, "This is a house of learned doctors" So this was my adaptation of the idea. Piece is stitched in a 8 inch oval flexihoop frame.
I am so guilty of saying this, usually following something shocking I have just said out loud.. the look of what? and attached to, "I'm just sayin'" So I had to stitch it up! I used a simple decorative flower thingie on the bottom
I just love Jane Lynch in 'Role Models' and '40 Year Old Virgin' So I couldn't wait to do this cross stitch. I had planned it for around a month before I got started because I knew I wanted it to be "epic" at least epic for me. I tend to stick to simpler patterns cause honestly I get distracted easily, my ADD kicks in and I want to start something different. HAHA! So when I designed the pattern, I knew I was going to be using 10+ different colors.. When I found this frame I knew it was time to suck it up and start stitching! The frame is a 8x10 just to give you a idea of how large it is! The piece took me over a week of stitching solid, barely stopping! Probably didn't help that I picked a thick, bold font too Hope you guys like it, it is truly a labor of love!
close up of the border while I was still working on the font as you can tell
I did this piece with the thought of those people who try to claim that santa and satan are the same person, same letters just rearranged.. I thought well psh.. Hail Santa then cause he is the big jolly guy with gifts! I did this piece for 323 East(local art gallery)'s Snow Flakes and Candy Canes gift show.
This is a piece I did for a local art gallery's Christmas gift art show! It is a quote from George Carlin stand up.. In the stand up Carlin discusses how much trouble the USA is in.. This was my favorite quote! The first photo is edited for those who view at work.. Scroll down for the unedited version!
