1  Re: The Crafty Wedding Craftalong! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by Mishymishy on: June 04, 2008 09:37:58 PM
Oh no worries, I understand! I've always loved Vegas so it was a good fit for me but its definitely not everyone's style. My FI parents are mormon, so I have no idea how they will cope in sin city for a weekend  Grin

Anyway, 2/3rds of my favors are here! I'm just waiting on the labels for my candles which SHOULD have been dropped off today but i wasn't home for the fed ex guy Sad He didn't even leave a note though.... aren't they supposed to leave a note saying they tried to deliver a parcel? On the online tracking it said "owner not home" or something like that but there was nothing on our door.  Huh

Anyway, these are our silk fans that we will be handing out before the outdoor ceremony. Hopefully it will help a little with the heat. The matches will be given at the reception with our candles.

Close up of the engraving on the fan:

Oh and what is the etiquette on names on favors/invites? I am hispanic and our tradition is always "men's name first" but someone told me its the other way around on wedding stuff. Is it a cultural thing?

and since I already have a post for my invites, here is the link to the post Smiley

The final product. Honestly, after scrutinizing it, I kind of hate it, but people have been telling me they're nice, so it's reassuring.  Cheesy

3  Strawberry (Short?)cake in Dessert by Mishymishy on: May 30, 2008 10:51:37 PM
I'm not sure if I can technically call this a Strawberry shortcake since I think shortcake uses biscuits.... but it's assembled like shortcake so I guess so? Anyway, it was yummy :p

6  My take on the upside down tomato plants! in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by Mishymishy on: May 18, 2008 09:20:46 PM
Made from a soda bottle, 2 plastic planter things from Lowes and 3 buckets from the 99 cent store!

99 cent store supplies:

TaDa! Sorry, the pic was taken at night.

Any comments/advice? I've never grown tomatos before.

I had 2 secrets anonymously emailed to me Smiley

I don't remember the name of one of the men I've slept with.

Modern art scares me

2 cards that were emailed to me anonymously:

"If I could afford it, I would get lipo and a breast reduction. I'm just so tired of being FAT"
There was also a note that said the photo is of the ideal size.

"I wish i could...." (then a Squirt can riveted on the card)

Pr Vikiki's request, Option F

Thank you for the input Matuta!  Smiley I agree, the monogram isn't my favorite font, I just wanted to slap something on there to give myself an idea of how it might work. I LOVE dafont.com though, thats where I got the font I'm using on the other pages (it's called Tagettes and Tagettes plus).

The sheer ribbon is an interesting idea. I shall have to play with it a bit. I actually did play with the idea of powder embossing but after making 60 of these suckers, I thought it would get too tedious. I'd rather get an embossing stamp with our initials (I saw a lot of nice ones when i went to Italy in feb... now kicking myself for not getting one).

10  Re: Need input on invites please :) Image heavy!!! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by Mishymishy on: April 30, 2008 07:32:35 PM
Kiki, I will take the vegas image thingy into consideration  Wink

These invites are my wedding obsession du jour  Roll Eyes So I made some samples. I know. Obsessed. Im having trouble trying to get the embosser to look "seamless" but I'm trying.

Option A:
Black front and back, ivory ribbon

Option B:
Black front only, ivory ribbon

Option C: (I was too lazy to blur my info, no one stalk me please  Roll Eyes
No front cover, black back and ribbon

Option D:
Ivory front, black ribbon with monogram (I wont be using that monogram, I just wanted to get an idea of how it would look)

Option E: Slightly larger back with monogram and black ribbon. I kind of hate this one.
