1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / flat-back "rhinestones" for eyes? on: March 01, 2007 09:54:44 AM
I want to do add more realistic-looking eyes to my figures than I can manage using either PC alone or by inserting solid-color glass or gemstone beads. Does anyone know where I can find flat-backed glass "rhinestones" without faceting?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / motifs for mothers who have lost children? on: January 19, 2007 11:31:02 AM
This inquiry hasn't gotten much response on the Mother's Day holiday board, so I thought I'd post it here:

Sorry to post such a downer inquiry, but one of my sisters lost a teenage son and another lost a young grandson, and I would like to make gifts for each of them that acknowledge the heartache they've endured and show my love and support. Are there any established motifs, mottoes, quotes, etc. for acknowledging mothers/parents/grandparents who've lost children, something that communicates the message more distinctively than the different colors of awareness ribbons (which they obviously ran out of a long time ago)? I'm working in polymer clay and have considered lockets, keepsake boxes, photo frames, etc. Even a short quote or poetry fragment of a non-religious nature could work, but I don't seem to be having much luck in my Web searches.

Thanks for your help.
