What is the name of the product where you form wire loops and then dip it into the solution and when it's dry it looks clearish and it's thin like plastic but colored...most of the time used to make fake flower petals ?
Basically, many of us have craft projects that we started and never finished and have been collecting dust ever since. How about a swap where you send those neglected not completed crafts off to someone who loves to do that kind of craft? What do you think? Should we make it so that after they are done they are sent back or just swap them and be done with it?
I am new to all of this, but I would love to knit some socks. I can knit stitch and purl stitch. My question is what is your favorite yarn for socks? (and your fav needles for them too lol)
My gripe follows so skip it if you don't care, but never ever go to handiworks in little rock for your yarn. There are only two lys's in little rock and that was the first one I went to. Admittedly, I am a bit intimadated by walking into my first lys, but I braved it. There was only one person there and he was totally unhelpful. I wandered in and didn't see a soul so I just walked around, checking out their selection and looking for prices. There were no prices anywhere...I really hate that...makes me think that it would've been subjective (15 for me 10 for someone else, etc). And it is in a super snooty area, but the guy came rushing out of the back and said "something i can do for you?" and eyeing me in that way of saying what are you doing here, you don't belong. I explained that I was a new knitter and was looking to start socks and was looking for the appropriate yarn and needles for the project. He told me that he couldn't help me and then just stood there and stared at me until I left. Part two of this is that I won an auction for a huge assortment of needles, including circs, and a case...I got it in today and it is all filthy and in horrible shape..the circs are all broken as are all the dpns and when I attempted to just run them under water to see if that would clean them up a little the two I tried broke...and the case reeks of mildew and the fabric is shredded and the actual body of the case is detiorated beyond belief. It's been a really bad day for knitting =(
I am going to attempt learning to knit and I found a deal on needles on good-old ebay, but the yarn around here is OUTRAGOUS! Anyone know of a good place to buy yarn that won't make it not worthwhile to diy?
