1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Pattern deciphering on: July 28, 2007 09:41:58 AM
I've already asked once about this silly pattern, which I keep putting down because I am not loving it.  But,  am determined to finish now and I have another question.

Here is the pattern: http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babyswepetal.htm

In the Dividing for Armholes section,  this is where my problem lies.

BO four, yada yada,  got it.  But then it says "Purl back, placing sleeve sts from holder on needle and placing markers at beginning and end of each sleeve."

1.)  The sleeves are 19 stitches... they aren't really easily placed in a space of 4 BO'd stitches.

2.)  Does place mean that I should purl them from the holders, or just slip them from the holders.

2a.)  If it means slip,  do I just carry the yarn underneath and continue purling across the row afterward?  Won't that be uncomfortable while wearing the sweater later?

2b.)  If it means purling, then the drastic difference of 4/23 stitches comes into play... wouldn't that make a funny shaped armhole?

Can someone make sense of this for me?

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / a quick pattern help question for ya'll on: July 13, 2007 10:39:55 PM
I'm making this sweater (http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babyswepetal.htm), I've just started and the pattern stitch is confusing me.  The end of each lines says "k2 instead of k1, k3 instead of k2" etc.  I've gotten to that part, and there is only one stitch left... so since it says k2 instead of k1, do I add a stitch?

So far I've just been knitting the one(two, three, whatever) that are left, but I don't want it to end up wonky if I was meant to be adding stitches.

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / baby flower hat? on: July 07, 2007 04:06:36 PM
I'm a knitter, but after seeing this hat http://www.littlewatkins.com/, the purple one on the far left, I am determined to crochet.  I have searched for a pattern like it but haven't been successful.

Have any of you seen a pattern for something similar?
