Try the Newark Museum or the Montclair Art Museum. Also, I remember seeing some sort of art school opening up on the same street that the Red Cross is on (can't remember the name of it). It's next to the stained glass place - the also offer lessons. The Ambulance is on that street too.

You can hire a lighting company to come in and create good lighting. However, I am sure that is waaaaayyyy expensive. Do you have any friends in theatre? They can borrow theatre lights. Put them on the floor and put a blue/green gel over it and shoot it up the wall. It will wash the walls in color and will provide soft lighting for the hall.
Also, a lot of times places say no open flames it doesn't mean any candles. It means that they have to be covered so hurricaine lamps and votives are fine. You wouldn't be able to do tapers or pillars.

I doubt you will be able to find the type of confetti that you are looking for in a store or even over the iterenet. Is this something you can make? Perhaps they have a little truck punch at your local craft store. Scrapbooking aisle. Word to the wise - buy as many punches as the store has, have a few friends come over one night and give everyone a punch and tell them to go crazy.

It doesn't look lopsided to me. You are probably noticing it more because you have been working on it so long. Besides, once you put cupcakes on it, you probably won't notice it anymore.

I saw a post a while ago on Craftster someone emboridered handkerchiefs and attached a small locket on the corner. You can also put a locket/charm on your bouquet and attach it where the ribbon wraps around the stem - this is new trend that is starting to catch on.

Personally, I don't think that you should do it. What is your budget? I would think that with mock-up material and the actual dress fabric it's going to cost at least $200 - $300 in materials. I just bought my wedding dress for $700 and got alterations thrown in for free. My advice is to find a small dress shop and negotiate with the owner. I found the same dress on Ebay for about $300 (brand new) but it was one size too small. If you really search the internet you can find dresses that are retail $1000 for $300- $400 each.

Lala - Do you have a picture of your invites, card, etc that you used the peacock feather stamp on? I am looking for a stamp like that like that for my wedding and I haven't had any luck.

Hi,
I just got engaged a few weeks ago and here is what I plan on doing at my wedding (we are trying keep things unique) I am putting a linen table cloth out and have people sign it. Then I'm  going to embroider over all of the names. We plan on using the table cloth for our anniversary dinners and perhaps holidays.
Originally, I was going to have them all sign on the top of the table cloth, but then I thought once I emboridered it, it would be too bumpy and with dishes on the table you wouldn't be able to see anything. Now, I think that I am going to have people write on the edges (the part that hangs off of the table).

10  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Bottle Caps / Snapple Caps / Etc. on: June 23, 2004 01:31:34 PM
Hi, This is my first post on this website! I found it a few weeks ago and I have been thilled with all of the projects.

Two summers ago, I collected all Snapple caps with the little facts on them. I was trying to get a full set... never happened I think that I was about 9 facts short. Anyway, I sorted through them all and made a poster of all the facts glued onto poster board with a tree drawn in the background. I hung it near my cubicle in my office and it was a great conversation starter.

Since I had collected so many, I had a lot of duplicates, so I made Christmas ornaments for my co-workers as a thank you for their "donations" from their Snapple bottles. I punched a hole in the top with a nail and a hammer, spray painted them gold (only on the side that said Snapple, so that you can still read the fact), threw some glitter on them and ran a piece of gold ribbon through them and voila - Snapple Christmas ornaments... they were a big hit!

we have tons!!! my husband an i arranged about half our collection into a collage of sorts to hang in our kitchen but we still have plenty more bottle caps. any creative ideas outside of a belt or wristband?...now as im typing this i guess i could do a picture frame...
thanks!
catherine
