21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: One Tiny Thing 22 (OTT 22) :: Sign-up Jun 1-6 :: Send Jun 30 on: June 07, 2009 11:47:22 PM
I FORGOT  Cry   I can't believe it!  I put off signing up till I could think of some good themes and then it went totally out of my head.

I'll be stalking the gallery and next round I will be better organised.
22  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Anything Amigurumi Swap II (sendouts 7/4) on: June 07, 2009 01:01:50 PM
It was out of stock everywhere when I wanted to buy it, and I lost patience waiting for it and ordered it from the author's etsy shop.  She signed it for me too Smiley

I was so impatient to buy it and I've never even made any of the patterns!
23  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: anyone know any cheap(free download??) to photoshop on: June 07, 2009 03:11:12 AM
If you don't like Gimp, you might like Paintshop Pro.  It's not free but if you shop around you can get it for about 30.

I personally don't like Gimp but I think it's because I've been using Photoshop for so long that I just couldn't adjust Grin  I have heard very good things about it though.

Fine, fine, I'll sign up Grin  I've sent in my questionnaire.  I do at least have lots of yarn stash to use and I bet I have some eyes lying around somewhere and if not I can always improvise.  And I do have lots of patterns (including Creepy Cute Crochet) that I keep meaning to try out.

I really did want to join this, but due too being completely and totally broke at the moment I can't even afford a packet of ami eyes, let alone the postage to the US or wherever!  I think I'm going to have to sit it out and hope there's another round.

I will definitely sign up for this, I love OTT, but I too have to think up some good themes Cheesy

There should be a button or knob that raises and lowers the feed dogs.  Have you checked that?
28  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Kitties Puke on Everything on: May 24, 2009 12:54:55 AM
My cat has just puked up his breakfast and is now digging on the wooden floor trying his best to cover it up.  I despair at having such a useless cat.

I keep meaning to stitch one of these for myself, I think that might be my project for the day Cheesy
29  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: Suggestions for watercolor paints? on: May 23, 2009 02:26:25 AM
Reeves are very poor quality paints.  They will fade over time.  If you can afford it, get artist quality paints.  Apart from not fading, there is a greater amount of pigment used when mixing the paints so the colours are more intense (and you need to use less) and they are just generally nicer to work with.  Whether you get tubes or pans is personal preference - most people prefer tubes I think.  I like both.

Previously I used Cotman (Winsor & Newton's student quality range) which weren't bad but I wanted to replace them with artist quality paints, so my husband has bought me some tubes of Maimeri Blu but I'm not allowed them till my birthday next month!
30  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: pop's old camera..worth repairing? on: May 23, 2009 02:22:18 AM
I can't see what it is but it looks like an OM-1.  Am I right?  If so then yes, get it fixed.  The OM-1 is a fantastic camera that still has a huge following.

What exactly is it that's the problem?  It might be something simple.  For example my husband found an OM-2 in a charity shop and for about a year he thought it was broken, till he realised he just needed to replace a little cell battery...
