11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Anything Amigurumi Swap II (sendouts 7/4) on: July 03, 2009 07:59:30 AM
Haha, 64 degrees back home (Ireland) would be seen as scorching!  My mum was complaining of the heat the other day.  "None of us can get any sleep, it's terrible..." it was actually about 17 degrees which is 64F.  Silly woman Grin

Funny enough I seem to have different blood to everyone else in the country, I can't cope with the cold at all.  Anything under about 22 degrees and I'm in a woolly jumper.

I'm hoping to be able to send on time but if not it will definitely be Monday (I will pm if I"m going to be late).  Poor excuse but it's been impossible to crochet in my house - we're having a heatwave in London.  It's only about 32 degrees but there is no air in our house AT ALL and it's so sticky and horrible inside that you literally can't crochet or knit because your hands are so sticky that the yarn won't go through them!  (Outside is lovely though but too awkward to bring all the various bits outside and crochet there.)

I haven't much left to do though, just finishing off really, so I'm hoping to get it done today as it's cooling down a bit.

Post a photo, I wanna see!

I've finished ami number 1.  I want to keep him (but I won't).

Not sure what to make for number 2.  I have a few possibilities.
15  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: Shipping to New Zealand on: June 14, 2009 02:55:56 AM
I sent to NZ a while ago for the Make Me a Little Friend swap.  It wasn't a very big package (an amigurumi and a few extras) but I seem to remember it wasn't much more expensive than it would have been to send to the US, and it arrived (in one piece!) inside a week and that was by bog standard air mail.

I just found it on Amazon US!  It looks very cool Grin

I finally picked something to make (although there will be more than one) and started it this morning.  Crocheting while watching CSI, what could be better?

My partner likes cute things, so that's exactly what she'll be getting Cheesy

Oh, speaking of things that are cute, while looking for the Care Bears thing on Amazon I came across a few needle felting books.  I'd love to have a go at that.  Has anyone ever done it?  Is it hard?

OMG, crocheted Care Bears sounds like the most awesome thing ever!  Where'd you find it?

I'm still being really indecisive.  I just can't make up my mind what to do.  The problem isn't shortage of ideas - it's too many of them!
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Socks for my dad's birthday on: June 09, 2009 12:35:21 AM
My dad is 74 on Friday!  Even though it's summer, he lives in Ireland where it's never really warm so I made him some cozy socks for his birthday present.  I'm posting them off today, I hope he likes them!

The yarn is a Kaffe Fassett design for Regia and was lovely to use.

OMG.  I think that would actually kill me to death.  I start feeling travel sick about two minutes after getting on a coach, no way I'd be able to crochet!
