Today it popped into my head that an apple with a happy face would be cute in my kitchen.  So I made this little dude, and I plan to make him a little green friend.  Hope you like him!  I did think of writing up a pattern but he was so easy that I couldn't imagine anyone actually needing one

Here it is!  I wasn't getting the instructions at all, so I cut bits of scrap fabric that totally didn't match and sewed them together just to see if I could work it out.  Isn't it hideous?  NiinaMaria, don't worry, you won't be getting this ugly pincushion or anything that looks remotely like it, I am not that mean

I'm sorry this has taken me a few days, I kept forgetting to bring it home from work as I keep a book there for reading at lunchtime and I put this bookmark to use straight away    I received this from ohthat, and the photos are pretty bad so ohthat, if you have better ones please post them.  I couldn't use flash as it kept bouncing off the shiny surface and there is no natural light in our apartment at this time of year... anyway.

Sorry I'm only getting around to posting photos of Droo now, and he's going home tomorrow!  I took lots and lots of photos but my compact is really old and poor quality (and I couldn't always bring my SLR as it's just too bulky) so I don't have as many as I'd hoped.  Here's Droo when he came to help me out at work.  Look how messy my desk is!



And here he is outside the London Transport Museum, you can see his new glasses.  His old ones got broken when he had a bit of a fall   But these are red to match his hat.

Here are my bookmarks I received today from lovesit and imakite:



This one is from imakite and is really long and sturdy and lacy, it'll be used for my thick textbooks where I can never find a 'normal' bookmark because they're so big   I don't know if you can see the little butterfly in the top corner.  I had said I'd love something tatted and this looks like it's tatted (was it?) - it's so cute!



Lovesit sent two - a cool corner bookmark, I've never had one of these before, and a laminated black one with ribbon, and they are both gorgeous.

These are from a pattern on the Lion Brand website, and are a present for my mum.  The crochet cotton has a sparkly thread running through it, it's really pretty but very hard to photograph.

I got an angel package today from RhymeswOrange and it was amazing - wait till you see!  It arrived at my work and I forced myself to wait till I got home so I could photograph it all wrapped up - torture    eight hours I had to wait!

First of all let me remind you guys that this swap was one medium and two small items.  Now look at this box.  There is nothing medium OR small about it.  (The painting is there to cover up my address!



And I opened it to find TONS of packages, all wrapped up in pink tissue paper!



The first thing I opened was this gorgeous little Chococat ami - isn't he cute?



Then some yummy sweeties, cute Hello Kitty stickers, a little Hello Kitty notebook and a frog that looks like Keroppi who grows when you put him in water 



Next some crochet stitch markers (can never have enough of these) with lots of Sanrio characters.  I love these!



Still more!  Lovely lovely Hello Kitty crocheted scarf, it's VERY long which is just how I like my scarves, and it's also very soft and I am going to wear this all winter.  In fact I'm wearing it now indoors because our apartment is cold as silly hubby forgot to put the heating on.



And there is a matching hat!  It's lovely and floppy and I love it and even my husband commented on how cool it is.  Here's a really terrible action shot taken with my Macbook camera, sorry it's so bad.



Then I found this sweet little package all wrapped up prettily with two Hello Kitty pencils:



And inside I found some pink thank you cards, I will use these to thank people for some belated wedding presents we have just received.  They're very pretty.



And finally, the most adorable crochet ducks - three of them!



I love these so much that they are going to go in my bathroom as a decoration as they match the colours in there, I might put up another shelf specially for them.  They are so incredibly cute.  Are they actually Sanrio characters?  If so I'm not familiar with them, but I am in love with them!

I am so grateful to RhymeswOrange for all the time and effort and thought she put into her package, I love every single thing in it and I really feel like my Christmas has come a week early!  I hope we get partnered in a future swap so I can try to make up for it all!  Thank you so much, and also thanks to Razorbladesmile for organising this swap and finding me such an awesome angel

Ruby has had a quiet few days because I've been snowed under with college stuff... but today I have the day off and she helped me with lots of things!  Here she is helping me block a scarf. 



Tomorrow she is coming to visit some friends with us.
