1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / tying a quilt with cotton/poly batting on: April 30, 2012 11:09:16 AM
I am making a crayon quilt with my DDs first grade class for their student teacher. I was planning on using poly-fil 80/20 for batting. Is there any reason why I cant tie it? I thought it would be fun for the kids; although i guess i could do some straight line quilting as well if need be. Does anyone have any advice? TIA!

seeing as how i am not the greatest knitter ever (ha!) i am currently using a brightly colored varigated. i am avoiding actual designs until i know what im doing a little more.... my eventual plan is to make a couple pairs for my boy cousins who have a band. i want to put their band name on. (PH - painsville hill) thats for xmas tho, and i figure i have a few months, right?

if people would stop A) getting married and B) populating the planet i could work on my knitting. *sigh* as opposed to making gifts for those people.  Grin
