101  Mens polo shir recon -Honey hide your work shirts! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by paulinerose on: June 14, 2007 08:14:24 PM
Well I didnt take this from my dear honey, i bought it at goodwill. It is my first attempt at a shirt dress which I am obsessed with now. This one has a few minor flaws. see if you can notice. overall it came out good, and i like the blue stripes cause its kinda nautical-y like the rage right now.

I snagged this fabric for FREE from a recent swap. And what a score I think I got a good 7 yards. Well whoever gave it up was NUTS. I found out it glows in the dark which is waay cool. Especially if your my teen daughter whos obsessed with skulls. So I made her this bag and it reverses with purple and black stripe inside:

107  Bubble skirt-HELP! FIXED!! PICS Inside in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by paulinerose on: June 06, 2007 07:31:09 PM
Well I am trying to make a bubble skirt and I thought I was going along ok, but it doesnt look so bubbly. I am using a t-shirt and some pink satin. I cut the satin about 4 inches larger than the width of the t-shirt and gathered it. Then sewed it to the bottom of the t shirt. When turned out the right way it looks like this:

and you can see here that also part of the prob is that now at the top I will have to much fabric.

I can try to gather it and that might work but before I go further I thought I'd plead for help here. I tried finding a tute, but no luck. So any ideas??? Thx

Okay what I did was to cut the fabric inhalf along the width and gathered the other end. I then folded it to the other half and serged. It came out cute I think and looks pretty much like a real bubble skirt! Smiley
