1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Piano Illusion Scarf pattern? on: September 28, 2008 06:14:27 AM
Hi everyone - I had decided to make illusion scarves for my family this year for Christmas gifts - did the alien one for DD22 and the cats in shades for DD20 and was about to start the piano one for DS24 when I hit a snag - When I first planned this out months ago there was a pattern for a piano illusion scarf at this site: www.magknits.com/Dec06/patterns/counterpoint.htm
but it is no longer available. I tried searching and found another tute, but it wasn't the standard knitting graph I had done all my other illusion scarves with and I can't figure it out in my mind. Does any one have the Magknits Pattern or a pattern they have done that they could send me?

I was perusing the internet Sunday night and stumbled upon this tute:

3  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / alien illusion scarf question on: March 30, 2008 08:35:08 AM
Hi, I'm a fairly new knitter and I'm more than half-way through the Alien Illusion Scarf as a gift for my daughter for next Christmas. I knitted it in an acrylic yarn because she is the kind of person who will most likely leave it on the floor of her car until something spills on it and then need to wash it. If I steam block it (kill the acrylic) will I lose the illusion? It's not curling that horribly now and it's quite soft - should I just let it be?

It's a late post, but I made scoodies for my 3 kids - they loved them!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Christmas Pillowcase on: December 04, 2007 08:47:56 AM
I made a pillowcase for my daughter in college. She sent me back this photo of it in use. She loved it.

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Wine Charms on: December 04, 2007 08:39:19 AM
I made these wine charms for my DB & DSIL. Now I have to attempt my first altered tin to put them in.

Edited Dec. 11 to show the box I made from a truffle tin. It's my first altered tin.

The cover. I found the idea for Red or White online somewhere. I used advertisements from the newspaper and some images from the computer and wine bottle stickers.

This is the inside. I put burgundy felt on the bottom.
Detail of the wine glass sticker with a mini wine charm on it!
