1  Cuddle sac, Sun Dress Set and Booties in Crochet: Completed Projects by Tiel on: April 21, 2013 12:16:41 PM
A couple at church are expecting their first child,a little girl.  So I decided to fill in time with crocheting her some baby items.  At her shower she received a crochet afghan from her BFF's grandmother and I did not want to give her another one.  These are the items that I gave her today.  She was so excited and was in love with the booties and sandals.  I told her I had several more sandals to make her but was struggling with the pattern.  Made 5 different booties with same pattern and not a one matched each other.  LOL!!!!!  Pay no attention to date on pictures.  Too Lazy to set camera.

This is the first time I have ever been able to do a ripple of any kind.
These actually worked up quickly.

The picture doesn't show the hat well.  It was called a turban hat.  There is three rows of chain stitches that are bundled together.  Some have called it a butterfly stitch.

I love this pattern and it worked up in an evening of watching NCIS reruns.

I have all the pattern links on my Pinterest account.  http://pinterest.com/tielforrest/crochet-baby/

4  First attempt @ Basketweave in Dessert by Tiel on: August 20, 2010 01:16:08 PM
My niece turns sixteen today.  She was suppose to have her first sleep over tommorrow but she is having seizures again.  So I decided to go ahead making her cake for her.  She is mentally challenged and loves to cook.  Which she does extremely well.  I just recently became department manager of the bakery at Walmart.  Since I really don't know how to ice a cake professionally I decided to try at home.  I am learning at work.  Ive been fascinated by the basketweave.  So, I went to Wilton's website and watch the video.  It is way to easy and looks complicated.  So, here are my first attempts at decorating.

6  Re: Monkey Blanket in Crochetalongs by Tiel on: July 06, 2010 05:45:08 AM
I've made all my small squares and some rectangles.  Got two of the monkey squares crocheted.  Last night I sewing the small square and rectangle to the monkey square.  For some reason I cant ge his nose to sew on straight.  So he has no sniffer right now.  LOL!!! I was also thinking about  giving him some pupils.  My  brown yarn doesn't allow his  eyes to be seen.
I need to press the small stuffing sticking out back in.  I tried to many times on the nose.

I'm glad someone else is joining me.  It works up quickly.   The monkey square takes longer but still is quick.

8  Zoey and Joey 4 CraftyDeb Tested in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Tiel on: July 24, 2009 07:08:44 PM
I have met a wonderful person through craftsters and learning a lot about crocheting in the round testing her patterns.  She is wonderful.  Check out http://www.craftydeb.com  for more great projects. My nephew for some unknown reason has taken Zoey back to Texas with him.  Joey wasn't done before he left.  I still need to practice on stuffing and getting body parts to match.  I call mine the handicap series.  I'm doing better.  Here are the latest projects from her.

9  Diaper Cake Conversion in Crochet: Completed Projects by Tiel on: June 26, 2009 07:13:16 PM
Okay, I wanted for some time to make a diaper cake.  Got the diapers and stopped by the local $ store for trinkets.  Well low and behold they are out of most of the baby stuff.  So, I had to brain storm for ideas.  I did crochet a dress, bloomer booties and 2 bibs.  So my 7 and 12 year old nephews started rolling diapers and assembling the cake.  For what we had to work with we did good.  The base underneath are the onies I bought and wrapped and used as a stronger structure.

10  Yarn Substitions????? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by Tiel on: December 27, 2008 08:49:33 AM
I have a pattern that I really want to make.  It's a crochet jacket in Defining Crochet Sept 2008.  However it calls for (4) Moda Dea Tweedle Dee bulky (chunky)yarn and (5) TLC Essentials medium worsted yarn.  I really would like to use Peaches and Cream all cotton yarn.  This way I could wear it all year and not just in the winter.   It also calls for a crochet hook I and J.  My thinking was if I use the cotton and find a needle that gives me the same gauge would it be okay?  The bulky/chunky yarn is the cinnamon color on the shoulders.
