1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / What to do with old plates, teacups, saucers? on: June 16, 2009 06:31:03 PM
My sister came across some leftover dinnerware that perfectly matches her kitchen. She already has a very nice set of dinnerware, so she was wondering how she could utilize the new(er) stuff? Like making teacup candles, or plate clocks, ect.

I wanted to put it to you craftsters what would you do or what have you done?
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / What stitch is this? on: January 31, 2007 08:36:59 AM
I have been going back and forth in an internal debate in my head as to what stitch this is.  Is it knit or crochet?  Is it crocheted sideways?

Thanks craftsters!
3  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / DORMANT: Hairpin Lace Cardi Wrap from Stitch Diva on: March 03, 2006 04:47:54 PM
Here is a picture of the CAL:

The top picture is the Hairpin Lace one, and the bottom is a knit pattern.

Okay, I realize that hairpin lace is not specifically crocheting, but you have to use a crochet hook to make the lace.

You can find the pattern at StitchDiva: http://www.stitchdiva.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=SDS-017 StitchDiva.com

StitchDiva also has a ton of great (free!) online tutorials on Hairpin Lace.  I caught on in no time!  I ordered my loom from Joann's http://www.joanns.com, I found it by searching for a "Hairpin Loom."  I tried to find it in the store, but no luck.

The spaces for the pin on the loom are only adjustable by 1/2" incriments, but that should be close enough.

I am excited!  I begin tonight!
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Pop Tab Purse on: September 17, 2004 01:24:41 PM
http://www.recycledplanetstore.com/DSC00037.jpg

My sister wants to make one of these.  She saw the pic and started saving pop tabs.  I think she is up to a few hundred now.  It looks like wire makes the shape of the purse, with pop tabs woven in.

Any ideas?  Has anyone else attempted this?

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Super easy ponchos! (now with "blue" pattern!) on: July 22, 2004 08:52:45 AM
Been lurking on here for a while, and finally decided to contribute instead of schmoozing everyone elses ideas.

Both of these I just kind of whipped out.  I wanted ponchos, and gosh-darn-it I wanted them now!

This one is single crochet for the whole thing, done in a t-shirt yarn.

This one is double crochet in very fuzzy yarn:
