The lighting in the first two the white balance is just off most cameras have a setting you can screw with that will help with adjusting it Smiley
23  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / need suggestions on what color to use next on: September 23, 2009 09:20:22 PM
I've been working non stop on this for a bit and am to a 'point' where I have to make a decision, I need to determine what color scheme to do for my octopus, I've included a few up close shots of bits of this it's rather tiny and I'm still adding color and blending a bit but could definitely use some input before I go much further
Last shot is with a double A battery just to show the scale.

26  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / A fabric vase on: September 19, 2009 07:31:41 PM
I made this fabric vase for a container for the jar of whimsies swap, and since my partner received I figure I can show it off a little Smiley  My partner is pretty green so I made this using scrap pieces of fabric and timtex to make a vase, I liked it with the raw edges I thought it added to the overall feel of it.  It's 5 sided and forms a 'star' opening which I thought was super fun Smiley Would love your opinions and/or thoughts Smiley

28  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: first time with shrinkys :D on: September 17, 2009 01:15:03 PM
when printing in color you really want to make sure you lighten the coloring considerably (about 50%-75% lighter)  Use the contrast  or brightness feature of your art program.  Since the color intensifies as it shrinks you really have to adjust it otherwise you'll get a uber dark almost black result
