1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Mini Art Quilt Swap 2 Gallery on: November 21, 2009 05:19:44 AM
such fun work so far, can't wait to see what everyone else has done.  I'm nervous about the one I've made it's neat just far outside of my normal box.  A little more detailing to do to it but hopefully will finish it up this morning Smiley
2  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Mini Art Quilt Swap 2 (EXTENSION, Sendouts Nov 23) on: November 13, 2009 12:48:03 AM
pjherbert, sometimes I think that must be my favorite game lol and definitely no winners.

I'm considerably closer to finishing, my sister saw the progress pics of what I'm doing and she thinks it's wonderful I'm still not so sure myself, I'm afraid it might be a little too 'over the top' but I committed to it and am seeing it through, if it's awful when done I don't know what I will do Sad  The broken hand really threw a kink into so many of my plans

a little extra time is great Smiley the bones in my hand have 'fused', but the movement is still a little ackward for me so a little extra time to get my hand where it moves right is awesome Smiley

7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Bella and Jacob Twilight T-shirt on: October 16, 2009 01:26:56 PM
A few weeks ago my 4 color silver press arrived.  Have had quite a time in getting all the little bits and pieces together for making the process run smoothly.  (getting the right printer for the films, buying a pressure washer, getting the little adjustments right, and remembering important steps lol)

So last night the daughter and I did a quickie design (think we could have done better on the art but regardless)  I decided we were printing no matter what we did lol.

She wanted a Jacob and bella shirt to wear to the movie in about a month.  Not going to bore you with a ton of details but thought I would share the results (there are more photos and lots more details in the blog link here http://cohesivechaos.com/2009/10/the-monster-in-my-dining-room/

I'll try to get a photo of her actually wearing it so that you can see the print better later when she's home from school.  Opinions and thoughts greatly appreciated

I totally love the bamboo/cotton blend and the silk/cotton blend they are fabulous battings

I tend to use cotton batting even in art quilts, though I'm sure everyone has their own preferences in what to use, definitely want to use something with body to to it (though not comforter like) so that it hangs nicely on the wall.
10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Tiny Octopus Lamp on: October 08, 2009 03:29:59 PM
Thanks everyone again Smiley  I used artist inks to paint it Smiley, my next goal for it is to make a lampshade that suits it's overall appearance Smiley
