131  Polymer Clay & resin foods edited to add action shots in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by CohesiveChaos on: February 09, 2008 03:37:38 PM
I'm really not sure if it should go here or not but they all do contain polymer clay pieces so I thought I'd share my foods.

I found these fantastic tiny bowls, and knew they were meant to become little bowls full of food, so I sculpted all the parts and added resin to them for the sauces etc...   Their about 1.5" diameter bowls just for scale reference.

Creamy chicken noodle soup

Beef Stew and Wonton with cabbage

Side view of the wonton and beef stew

Wide side view, includes the ravioli which I didn't include in the top shots (still needs a little work)

And as promised here are action shots

A side view of the beef stew with background mess to show it's not really being held the right way Wink

And an explination of the why (since many have asked)  I collect Asian Ball jointed dolls, and since they are created to be quite realistic, I thought they needed realistic foods too.  A crash course in BJD - they are 60cm/23.5 inch  resin cast dolls made primarily in Korea and Japan.  The doll featured in the photos below is Lishe from a company called Luts.  You can see alot more photos of the girls by clicking on my website link in my signature Smiley

And with a Quarter for scale purposes

132  Re: Friends of Craftster Secret Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by CohesiveChaos on: February 05, 2008 02:10:23 AM
I received from my swap partner the other day and the things I received are just fantastic!  I could almost cry at how well she researched my interests.  Everything was packaged so cute, and included a hand written note about the piece.  And can you believe she sews everything by hand?  I'm just in complete awe of everything she sent and am so excited to get to share it with you all Smiley

So without further adieu here are photos!

A fantastic keychain (had to take it off my keys to show it off)

A set of 5 skull stitch markers, maybe now I'll get around to trying to knit something that requires use!

2 hand sewn reversible skull trivets beautiful!

A pretty burgandy paisley heating pad with removable heating pad inside (again so beautiful I have no patience for hand sewing so I truly admire and appreciate the work she has put into this!)

A knitted Martini washcloth (love love love the martini!)

a very cozy and warm neckwarmer (no action shots though I'm not good at photos of myself lol)

And a fantastic silver Buddha, Don't you just want to rub his belly for luck?

She also sent a heavenly bag full of fudge that my little boy broke into while I was opening the rest, I had to hide it atop the cabinet in my kitchen.  But it's delicious!

Thank you so very much Superhooker, and i hope that my photos did justice!

133  Resin Pendants very image obese in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by CohesiveChaos on: February 04, 2008 04:00:03 PM
I'm taking a break from sewing at the moment, so I thought I'd share one of my other obsessions, that I know sooo many others enjoy too Cheesy.

I absolutely love working with resin and seeing how far I can push the limits of my own creativity.  There have definitely been trials and errors in the process, but the pieces below are some of my favorite from the most recent dive into playing with resin.  I also love sculpting, so I sculpted a few pieces and made some silicone molds so that I could cast things that are uniquely mine.

I hope you'll enjoy the eye candy as much as I enjoyed making it (I took about 500 photos I'd forgotten how difficult it can be to photograph shiny things lol)  They are all very tiny (the biggest is just a hair over 1 3/8" at it's widest point)

A beautiful little blue cross with gold mica accents cast in clear resin

Love is a dangerous game, what says danger more than a black heart, revolver & snake eyes

Cast in white resin from a heart I sculpted and carved

Cast with pink mica colored resin, from an original sugar skull sculpture

Silvertone crown with pink/black/white accents (cause every girl is a princess at heart right)

Guitar, heart confetti and square pink bead in a heart

Cast from hand sculpted heart and skull, I don't mean for them to turn out looking like the nightmare before christmas Jack, but I love cartoony cute skulls Tongue

This is one of my favorite pieces, cast from a heart I sculpted.

A dainty resin pendant with hand sculpted olives & sparkly hearts inside, because I give you olive my love (I love plays on words)

A small round pendant with a metal plaque inside and hand tinted resin details

A silvertone victorian style cameo with black glitter (hard to see in the photo and the red bit is my walls reflecting on it lol)

small round pendant with hugs kisses and wishes

134  Nintendo DS lite organizer/carry case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by CohesiveChaos on: January 27, 2008 10:52:06 AM
So I felt the need to make something in the wee hours of the night and decided I'd make a case for my daughters Nintendo DS lite that she got for Christmas, and well, 2 drafts later I've come up with a design that she is thrilled with and I managed to get a few photos before she snagged it and ran so I thought I would share it here Smiley  I've had an obsession with sewing with this particular fabric lately and she's wanted everything I've made from it so the final version from her was made with these two prints.

The front of the bag, handle could be a little narrower but she likes it just the same

When you open it up you see that there are two straps there to hold the DS in place, but wait there's more!

open the little flap on the inside and you notice space to store 12 DS games and 2 regular gameboy games

And then we have two little pockets in the binding where her extra stylus' fit perfect

Everything a girl could need to tote her DS around in style I think (I'm quite tickled pink with it all can't you tell Wink

Thank you for looking at my project!
