Argh. I hate the time that you have to wait between when you sign up for a swap and when you get partners!

July 17th- get over here!

5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / A Literary Halloween? on: October 13, 2008 06:08:15 PM
Ok, since I'm a complete English literature dork, I really wanted to go as a character from a book...but I need suggestions!  It can't be anything too elaborate, as I'm on a limited budget.

HELP, PLEASE!  Smiley
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / German map fabric? on: August 30, 2008 06:38:26 AM
So I was at a flea market the other day and I came upon this fabric with the map of Germany on it.  It was $7 and so awesome that I had to buy it. On the map all the cities are illustrated with their famous buildings.  And on the border are the crests of each city.

Now, I'm not sure what to do with it.  This thing is HUGE (3' x 4') and the fabric is really flimsy- almost like a tshirt material.  I was thinking of just hanging it on a wall, but I'm worried that the fabric isn't strong enough...

So two questions:

Does anyone know a good way to hang this?

-or-

What else can I do with it>

I added more fabric to mine.
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Dog Swap Gallery on: August 28, 2008 04:57:09 AM
A decorated jar of treats (they smell really good, my husband wants to eat them)

Ok, this is kind of embarassing, but I thought they smelled really good too so I tried one...NOT a good idea.  They have no sugar in them, so they're not so great for humans.   Smiley

AWESOME! I was hoping your fabric would come up again!  Grin  I claim:

1/2 yard faux quilted fabric
1 FQ green with red splashes

I'll put up my fabric- with some new things- in a few minutes.

Everything just labeled FQ is the standard FQ size.  Some of my FQ are oddly shaped...but I noted that in the descriptions.

#1- Multi-colored with gold cotton fabric (1 yard)

#2- Pink and purple pattern cotton fabric (1/3 yard)

#3- Grey, red & white stripe cotton fabric (1/4 yard)

#4- Floral canvas fabric (17x24 or FQ)

#5- Blue floral cotton fabric (1/2 yard)

#6- Soccer ball fleece (3/4 yard)

#7- Poinsettia cotton fabric (1/2 yard)

#8- Candy cane cotton fabric (1 FQ)

#9- Holly leaf cotton fabric (1 FQ)

#10- Green wreath cotton fabric (1 FQ)

#11- Purple and teal satin (1 FQ, measures 9x30)

#12- Red with black flower satin (1 FQ, measures 10x26)

#13- Shiny red fabric- type unknown (1 FQ 9x37)

#14- Space cotton fabric (1/2 yard)
