1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / A journey back to jewelry- gorgeous earrings! on: December 07, 2007 10:08:34 PM
Greetings everyone.

I've just recently gotten back into jewelry making after finally having my ears pierced (I'm 19...guess I just never got around to it). These are my first earrings, which were easy to make since its just kind of like making necklaces and bracelets, just a little different.

Here they are:

Thanks for looking and I'm sure you'll be seeing more of me. Cheesy

Wow that looks really great! I like yours more than the one in the book. I may just have to knit this now.  Smiley
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Lorna's Laces Mountain Hat on: August 18, 2007 12:11:44 PM
This is a hat I just finished while stranded in my dorm room (its been over 100 degrees for about a week). Its made from Lorna's Laces Shephard Worsted in Mountain Creek I think. I got it as a graduation present (apparently taking your sister into the yarn store and pointing out yarns helps  Wink ). Anyway, I used a pattern fromhttp://www.crazyauntpurl.com/archives/2005/06/easy_rollbrim_k_1.php as a base. This is only my second hat (not counting ones I made on a loom), so I kept it simple. I did it on US 7 16" circulars and it was really fast to do.

The only drawback is now I have to wait until the temperature comes down to wear it...

That is a gorgeous tank! I love the bottom part and the seed stitch edging.  I may have to knit that. Smiley
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitted Clock-yes it works on: May 31, 2007 07:24:37 PM
Ooo that is so cool! The gears in my mind are turning already- you could totally do intarsia or bobbles instead of buttons...I must make one!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Sesame on: May 28, 2007 08:22:53 PM
That looks really good! I may actually knit it now without the thought of all those blasted stripes. Also, the fact that you knit it in Wool of the Andes is nice too (price wise).
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Soleil on: May 28, 2007 08:06:59 PM
Thanks for all of the comments everyone!

Also, tall knitters unite! (lol) By the way I just started a new blog about knitting for my height, so check it out if you want (I don't think I'm violating any rules here- I hope not!). The link is in my signature.

ImaginationsEnd- Don't worry, I wasn't offended at all. I used to be a huge Lord of the Rings fan, so it is a complement Wink

tigerita- If you need any help with lengthening the pattern, let me know!

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Soleil on: May 27, 2007 10:14:44 PM
This is my first knit garment and it actually fits perfectly! I have a lot of issues with my clothes fitting because of my height (I'm 5'11"). I really enjoyed knitting this and also learned how to alter the pattern to fit my needs. I would recommend this as a good first garment pattern!

I used the recommended Elann Sonata on size 6 US Addi Turbos.

Those look really good especially for your firsts. And this is creepy...I knit the exact same socks (almost- toe up w/ stockinette and ribbing) with the exact same yarn. *twilight zone music*

I didn't like this pattern when I first saw it in the magazine, but yours looks great! I may have to add that to my must knit list.  Smiley Beautiful job!
