1  i think i screwed up my first sweater... in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by jnnfrb on: April 18, 2008 12:08:03 PM
I made this

and its about 3 inches to short.  I thought i might be able to just pick up and knit around the bottom to make it longer, but there are 2 rows of k1p1 rib there...will this work?  Does anyone have any suggestions or should I just start over and do a longer bottom part? And if it helps to stop the rolling at the bottom, that would be awesome too.  I was stash busting some Caron Simply Soft and it only took 3 days off and on to do, so its not a huge loss. I was just looking forward to wearing it this weekend.  Thanks guys!

Thanks everyone for all of your nice comments.  Can you tell I love doing birthday parties?  I have been seriously thinking about going into the birthday planning business.  I have already came up with a name and logo.  What do you think?

3  The most comfortable pants I ever made! (kind of alot of Pics) in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by jnnfrb on: August 12, 2007 12:14:27 PM
These pants are absolutely amazingly comfortable!  I cant believe it actually took me this long to sit down and sew them!  I used http://www.mediatinker.com/blog/archives/008262.html to make them, and it really turned out pretty good. I did shorten the length though, cuz it's just too dang hot for pants right now. The first ones I made are the flowery knit material ones and are super lightweight in this heat, and super stretchy.  I got confident at this point and made the black ones, which I think I am going to have to re-do or something.  I forgot to allow for the not-stretchiness (is that a word?) of the black fabric, and they are kinda tight around the legs.  Maybe its just me though lol.  The pattern says its a one size fits all, which is pretty much true around the waist, but you might want to double check the leg width measurements before you cut. I made both pairs of these in a few hours last night, and it would have gone much faster if I didn't have to hand sew everything.  I'm usually a knitter, so I don't sew very much, and feedback is always welcome.

My son, the helper... Just a quick question, how do you guys think it would turn out if I made a really small pair of these pants for him?  He's  in size 24 months now...Might have to sit down and work that out, cuz  they would be pretty cute on him, and not too hard either.

Well ok, there ya go! Enjoy!

4  I Can Make Pants!! YAY! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by jnnfrb on: January 15, 2007 12:52:12 PM
Ok, this is my first post, and the first pants I have made.  ( I am a clothing newbie.  Smiley) I followed a tute from http://www.rookiemoms.com/make-some-easy-kids-pants, except my hubby wouldnt let me cut up his shirts  Sad.  So...... I modified it and used leftover material from the kitchen curtains.I also gave them a drawstring instead of elastic.  Yay me!   So now my bouncing baby boy has Aloha Pants!  I think he likes them. But maybe he just likes to chew the drawstring! lol. I was just really flying by the seat of my pants on this one, if any one has any comments or suggestions let me know. I didnt really want them to be so wide legged as they are!
