Thank you all for the wonderful comments! I had a lot of fun making these (partially because they were among the first projects I got to use my serger on) and though there were some frustrations (and a couple that I just trashed) I'm happy with how they came out. DangitJess-I pretty much followed the tutorial that I linked in the first post, but I didn't do zippers, so just take out anything involving those haha! Then throw in a button hole and stitch on a button!
So I've been making a pillow with a pineapple on it. And now I'm stuck. Usually I have everything planned out from the beginning, but I wasn't sure how I wanted to do the main part of the fruit, so I decided to wait until I was done with the top.... bad idea. Now I'm just stuck. I'm not sure what sort of shape to do... if I should do just a suggestion/couple of areas or fill in the entire thing! Any links to pretty pineapples are encouraged (maybe you'll even find the one I 'borrowed').
Long long ago before I actually joined craftster, I read this thread and thought the bag was quite cute. So I kept everything in mind and then finally got around to sewing some hobo bags. Of course by that time I decided I would just make up my own pattern based on rememberances haha And now, a year or so later, I am finally posting pictures! The bags were made from various bits of fabric I had stored away, and the buttons are from our vintage collection. If you click on the image, it will take you to a close up of the fabric/button!
I've been motivitated apparently. I took photos of the other pillows that I have finished so far. Hopefully it will get me moving on the others that I have planned/started, but left sitting... waiting for me to stitch again! for un-compressed/reduced/pixellated versions, please click the full size link under the image!
..button-up.. - I tried to pick some fun colors for all of the pillows and I hope I was successful. And I sent you a pm regarding the crab-iness Bananna_AnnA - aww, I'm glad the crab has friends! and I've always though his eyes were crazy, but since Life Aquatice I have to say 'crazy eyes' like they do in the movie. And when I typed it, that's how I heard it in my head haha I love that move!
