so..  i DID go to the store and i made it tonight.  i figured i'd take some pictures too..   ;Dbecause this is probably my new favorite recipie!  i only made half, because i'm the only one eating it and i cut up my chicken into smaller pieces.
i was soooooooooo yummy!  Shocked

22  showing off amazing gifts! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by missriss on: August 13, 2008 09:47:15 AM
so i worked as the "craft lady" at a girl scout camp this summer and during a "jungle themed" week we make sculpy clay animals.  most of the kid's pieces came out...  like they were made by kids if you know what i mean.  but one of my campers, a 14 year old who claims to have never worked with clay made these for me and my friend.  despite her obnoxiousness that made me want to strangle her, she's an amazingly talented artist and i had to show off what she made!
a dalmation for my friend "pongo" (we have camp nicknames that we go by)

and a monkey for me!

23  Re: Favorite Movie Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by missriss on: July 12, 2008 11:58:48 AM
oooh...  i'm the first one posting pictures!
my favorite movies were- girl, interrupted, saved!, the breakfast club, and forrest gump.
bittersweet_symphonies made me a purse in my favorite colors!  which is awesome because i've been on the lookout for a new purse- but not anymore!  she said this was her first fully constructed purse ever- but i wouldn't have known if she hadn't told me!

already being put to use.

she made felt sushi from the sushi @ lunch scene in breakfast club

a box of chocolates from forrest gump.  only slightly melted!
but i didn't take a picture of them...
and magnets from all the movies!  i love magnets- can't wait 'till i move back to school and can put them on my refrigerator because they have no where to go right now.

and a tshirt w/ a line from girl, interrupted- "what's your diag-nonsense" and a picture of lisa w/ her creepy puppet thing.  my friend is going to be so jealous of the shirt...
i loved it all.  totally amazing!

24  Re: Disposable Camera Swap Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by missriss on: May 18, 2008 04:54:38 PM
so i'm finally able to post- i've been moving out of my dorm & driving home..  my package from foreversandals was such a good end to finals week!!!
here's it all together-
she sent chocolate too..... yum!
sort of close up of frame.  my camera screen is screwed up, so it's not a great picture.

i haven't quite decided what picture to put in it yet- but it's going to be a colorful one!!
and a few of my favorites...

25  what to do with cute cake? in Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions by missriss on: May 18, 2008 04:07:59 PM
so i've never actually been on this board before, but i knew it would be the perfect place to ask this question.
i bought this really cute polymer clay cake from an art show/gallery @ school.  i forgot the artist's name, but if i find it i'll mention her.

i realized i should have bought 2 so i could have earings, but by the time i realized that i was in the car on the way home.  soooo- what CAN i do with it other than have it sitting around looking cute??

26  security tag earings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by missriss on: May 11, 2008 05:05:14 PM
so some of the books i've bought @ the school bookstore have these security tag stickers inside them.  there's always one stuck on the back of the books as the barcode.  they've always facinated me, so instead of finishing my one last paper i figured i needed some awesome earings!
the backside part that sticks to the book looks like this.

i stuck it to some plastic wraping i found while packing the dorm room & glued the barcode side to a magazine page & added rinstones. because you can never have enough sparkle!

action shot!

thanks for looking!

28  crazy tiered skirt to floofy dress! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by missriss on: April 05, 2008 08:43:29 PM
i made a lot of stuff over spring break, but this is really the only interesting outfit.
i bought this skirt at the thrift store
and made it into this dress {i don't know why i look so orange, i'm actualy quite pale}
the fabric is really sheer and there wasn't quite enough fabric to make it double layerd in this fabric, so i took the lining out of an old skirt to line it.
i still need to sew the sash/waistband thing and i'm trying to decide if i should put straps on...
thanks for looking!

29  crazy skirt help in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by missriss on: March 22, 2008 03:39:42 PM
so, value discount outlet was having a half off sale for easter Shocked  and i picked up a whole lot of stuff.  and i know what i'm doing with it all, except this skirt.  i'd like to make it into some type of dress/jumper type thing but i'm having trouble deciding exactly what to do.  it's huge, as you can see, and really shear (sheer?)  so if any fellow craftsters have any ideas to help me out that would be awesome.
when held above my boobs it about knee length.

(ps, i'm in my dorm without a sewing machine for 2 more months, so hand sewing is going to have to do.)

30  love is a battle field in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by missriss on: March 01, 2008 01:03:01 PM
sooo... i found this tshirt at target and fell in love with it.   but i'm not much of a tshirt wearer so i bought it knowing i would do something to it....  i'm wearing a black long sleeve shirt underneath and i made the black mini skirt underneath it from an old thrift store dress because the shirt wasn't quite long enough to wear alone (why didn't i pick up the xxl??)  i'm not as brave as a lot of girls here, so i have to wait till the weather isn't in the 30s to wear this.  unless i wear it with jeans i guess....

the fact that i go to an arts school that's devoid of a specific school color, i had my choice of colors (and text design) when picking out a school shirt.  it's not that exciting, but i like it because i love turqouise! and stars.

(the star is a reverse aplique with a crappy embroidery and fabric paint outline)
