I'm pretty sure this is the first thing I've posted on this board...   For midterms I had to make a project for my "math in art and nature" class using one of the concepts we've talked about in class.  I used the Fibonacci sequence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci_number) to determine the size of the squares.  I outlined them in black with a stem stitch and filled them in with just a running stitch (or is it called something else?)
The picture isn't that great but I have no sunlight.  And doubt there will be any for a while...

my roommate had a pretty bad day yesterday, so i did the only thing I know to do to make someone feel better and got to work in the kitchen.  I went and bought some french bread and cubed it last night so it would dry out.
this morning i used this recipe to make bread pudding (http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1612,158178-247200,00.html)  except i used cinnamon instead of nutmeg and brown sugar instead of regular sugar (I really don't know how I ran out of something so basic..) i also added a banana, but that was a bad choice.  It wasn't the best bread pudding I've ever had but it was still pretty tasty. 

one of my banana slices was purple and I kind of freaked out, then I realized it was probably just touching a raisin...

I had a lot of bread left over so i melted some butter, mixed in some pesto and extra garlic, coated the rest of the bread and put it under the broiler mixing every couple of minutes for i think about 8 minutes total and made FABULOUS croutons!

first there was the yeti, which was her first stuffed animal ever!  really i wouldn't have known.  he's protecting my desk from evil things   and the giant squid who is totally adorable...

then a GIANT tote bag with nessie appliquéd on the front.  and i too got a tentacle gummy, which i've begun to devour as an end of the week treat. 

everything is awesome robbinzombie!  i was going to take teaser pics, but it just didn't happen, but judging from how fast your package got here i'm sure you will be receiving shortly.

so ever since i met him, my boyfriend has been wanting dreads..  last week on the bus he convinced me to do them for him.  of course i said yes...  i've always been intrigued by dread, but i could never pull them off and don't have enough patience for them.  so i'll just live vicariously through his.  he's been growing his hair out for a year.  it's pretty wavy and thick but super fine.  we started on tuesday and finished today (sunday).  i really didn't know what i was doing when i started.  we just read some stuff online and we took it from there.  i'm pretty proud of myself.  he's been complaining since thursday that he wants to wash his hair, but i won't let him until wednesday (is that a good amount of time??  he has pretty oily hair and some parts of his scalp are kinda flake-y)  he went and bought some residue free shampoo and i talked him out of getting wax after reading this thread (ok, just parts of it, i'm not reading all the pages)...  he did get some knottyboy accelerating gel- good or bad??  we're waiting to use it after he washes his hair.

at the top, under "my craftster"  there is a "my picture hosting" button.  click on that.  on the right it says "upload photos"  click on that, browse for the photos you want to upload, then below that, there is a button that says "upload/submit" and voila!

i got the great idea after watching one of those TLC shows about child beauty pageants to dress up like a contestant for halloween..
first, finished product, because i know that's what everyone wants to see.

i cut off the skirt and sewed it onto the sequined top.  and cut off the hideous sleeves.  i didn't hem them, because i don't have a sewing machine.  and i didn't think they looked to bad as they were...

so i've been scraching my head for a while now trying to think of something psychology related that wasn't overtly so to put on a tshirt...  so here it is!

i sqeezed fabric paint onto a piece of paper, folded it in half, opened it up, and pressed it on my tshirt and voila!  a rorshach inspired tshirt!
