1  Baby Kimono Sweater in Knitting: Completed Projects by MissTaken on: November 30, 2008 07:09:53 PM
This is my first post!  I'm psyched!

I started this sweater for my niece last spring.  It was my very first knitting project and I never did the finishing.  I finally finished it tonight in time for her first birthday.

Her parents are Brooklyn artists, so pink and ruffles is not really their style.  Still, I wanted the sweater to have a feminine touch, so I attached a grey rosette from a cardigan I got at Target last summer.

The wrap ties:

I used a Lion Brand free pattern called Little Luxury Kimono. http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60128A.html  I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Oxford Grey and Avocado

Comments?  Thanks!  Smiley

2  Help with bamboo jersey knit! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by MissTaken on: June 30, 2008 08:11:53 PM
I've started a project that I think is too ambitious for my skill level.

I'm creating an empire waist tunic with a surplice front neckline, and I'm using this incredibly soft and wonderful bamboo jersey knit.  I used a 2.0 zig-zag stitch to hem the neckline, and the fabric stretched and curled up.

Here are some photos:

The back neckline

The front

What should I do?  Is a twin needle finish a better idea?  A larger stitch? The seams are doing well with a 2.5 zig-zag, but I didn't think it looked as good for finishing.

Please!  I need the collective genius of Craftsters!
