This is Cancer, I need to get her finished up quickly, and I can't decide what color to paint her dress. I am trying to keep everything symbolic, Cardinal water sign (hence, the ocean) rulled by the moon, stone is pearls, color is yellow. I looked to Cancer's ruleing Tarot card, the Chariot for other color ideas, and the combination is yellow/blue. I want the crab to stand out the most, so I'd rather not have a bright red dress, which was my first instinct with the gold bodice... I just can't decide!

So, I could do the rich blue like the hair on this mermaid:


Green like the scales on this mermaid, which wouldnt hold any symbolic quality, but would be pretty without pulling too much attention to it:


Or red like her hair:

Sitting on a rock offshore, this lovely mermaid gazes at herself in one of her treasures, a silver looking-glass. Her long, flowing hair blows in the sea breeze, and a little starfish comes to sit with her.

This little mermaid warrior clutches her trident, ready for action. Her tail is the color of copper, and her beautiful flowing hair contrasts with the deep green of patina.

The first of my Angels and Demons series, this bat-winged beauty takes a late night stroll. Don’t let her beautiful face fool you though, her dress is made of the feathers from her fallen foes, and her blade is ever ready.

This is the second illustration in my Angels and Demons series. The battle between demons and angels rages on, and one of it’s tragic casualties is captured in this hand-painted illustration. This angel has been slain mid flight, her heart pierced with an arrow.

Red Riding Hood

   

The first of my Fairy Tale series, “Red Riding Hood” tells the story as a picture-in-picture. Inside, the young girl looks over her shoulder in the dark and frightening woods. The border shows the sly wolf in a brighter forest surrounding, with Red’s basket and the wildflowers she collected for her grandmother, as well as the Woodsman’s axe. The colors in this painting are very vibrant!

Snow White
 


The second of my Fairy Tale series, “Snow White” tells the story as a picture-in-picture. Inside, Snow White is tempted with the poisoned apple by her stepmother, the witch in her “ugly” guise. The border shows the beautiful princess on her deathbed, with the silhouetted dwarves standing watch at the bottom. The scene rises to the mountains that the little miners work at during the day, and at the top sits the witch’s magic mirror on her wicked altar.
