21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / gettin' ready for summer! on: March 20, 2008 12:12:30 PM
Alright, I've seen a few of these on here, but I don't know what they're called... soo, if you would like to enlighten me, please do so! I didn't use a pattern at all; I pretty much winged it. If I make another, I'm going to have to find out an easier way to make the bottom (and make the bottom even, haha).

But, basically I had this shirt from Fl that I never wore because it was too big:

and I made it into this:

(worn by floor)

I didn't have enough yellow on the one strap (oops)

(worn by me)

(up close with the pocket)

This was my first craft like this; therefore, everything on the bottom is a little bit wonky.. also, one of the straps is a little off in the back (or maybe I just put it on crooked?) But, I pretty much like this little thing a lot. OH YEAH! The bottom(& straps) part is made up of sleeves from earlier crafts that I saved.

I mostly think I'll wear this over my bathing suit (when I get one).. it's better than buying one of those cover up things at the store!
22  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / bored + paint + yoohoo + flowers on: March 18, 2008 12:01:29 PM
Alright, I didn't know where this would go..

Basically, one day I got bored.. and we had lots of empty yoohoo bottles.
Soo, this is what I made with them:

The tops together:

two other bottles that I've yet to put flowers in:

I pretty much just used some random paint in my house. I grabbed a brush, globbed some paint on it, stuck it in the bottle, and whacked it around a bit.   Tongue

I was wondering, what else could I use these bottles for?
23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / T to tank on: February 27, 2008 10:10:38 AM
My first time ever making a t-shirt to a tank top.
I did better than I thought I would

Before:

After:

It's very nice, and now I have more courage when it comes to cutting up shirts, hehe.  Grin
24  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / simple repaints on: February 22, 2008 07:18:31 AM
I had two pairs of shoes that I felt like changing the color of... so I painted them. I used some acrylic paint that I had in my room (dunno the brand or anything either). I haven't worn either pair yet & I don't know if I need to put some kind of sealer on them either... So, I'll just see how they do when I wear them.

First these white ones:

I needed some comfortable silver shoes for a dance coming up soon so I painted them:

Then I had these shoes I got for $4 at the thrift store:

I have too many blue shoes, so I painted them:

It was something simple to do while I was bored.
&&
I would like to know (since I might need to use it) what kind of sealer should I use?
like, what's a good brand?

Have a good day!  Grin
25  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / I need a little assistance on: February 09, 2008 10:50:13 PM
Ok, so this is the first time I've ever really wanted to drastically change anything about any shoes I have.
So, you would expect me to have questions.

I want to make these shoes different:

I thought it would be nice if you knew what I'm working with  Tongue

Basically, I want to paint them silver and possibly put something like those (I don't know what they're called)cell phone "bling" things on the strap.

Questions:

1. What type of paint should I use?
2. Where would I find myself something similar to the cell phone "bling" things? (and what is a better name for them?)
3. Do I need to use a sealant or something after painting? if so, what kind?

Thanks for any and all help!

26  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / yoohoo's are great on: January 22, 2008 06:41:57 PM
Alright, so my boyfriend and I went four wheeling at his friends house the other day, and we ended up drinking quite a few yoohoos. They were great, and I hadn't had one in FOREVER.
I told my boyfriend to save the bottle caps because I could probably make something out of them.

So, I made earrings!

fun stuff.
He thinks they're great & wants me to make a necklace out of the remaining few.  Tongue
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / scarf goodness on: December 17, 2007 02:29:25 PM
I wasn't sure where to put this because I don't think scarves count as clothing.
Ehh..

But, I made a scarf... It's rather neat:

Shows the length:

This one shows the color the best:

Up close and personal:

Sorry for the goofy face, someone was making farting noises in the other room. Hah.
28  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / 4 sock monkeys on: December 17, 2007 02:00:29 PM
So, I decided for Christmas that I was going to make everyone in my family a sock monkey. Of course, they aren't the greatest thing in the world, but I'm getting better at making them.

They are for my dad, mom, brother, and my brother's best friend(he's pretty much another brother)

What do you think?
29  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / little mario mushroom on: December 13, 2007 10:59:17 AM
Well, a while back I bought my dad some Spongebob figurines out of the little 25 cent machine thing. I ended up with some of the plastic containers, and I didn't want to throw them away. So, recently I was sitting at my computer completely spacing out while looking at the container and I thought, "Mario Mushroom!!"

So, I painted it up & this is what I got:

I may not be the greatest painter in the world, but I really like it. Now I must find the other three plastic containers!!
30  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ya know those mardi gras beads? on: December 13, 2007 10:49:25 AM
Well, I found a few of those mardi gras beads in my closet and I deciced I wanted to make something out of the strands that were broken.

Purple and red (I had to use a little super glue for the red strands to stay, haha):

& a random angle of these:

Green and gold:

Green and white:

& white:

The last ones are my favorite.
What do ya think?
