I love your tree, I love the mixture of fabrics!

I'm always mixing things up; usually things don't match, haha.
15  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / tree tapestry on: October 24, 2010 08:07:36 PM
I didn't know where to put this, or if these are considered tapestry, but I think they are. Haha.
I have some obsession with trees, and I will randomly make tapestry type things.
They are basically big pieces of fabric with smaller pieces sewn on top.

I've only made three, because I'll get really motivated to cut the pieces out, but it takes me forever to get around to sewing them

At some point in life I want to put a back on them & make them into quilts.. but that'll have to wait, haha.

I made this little green owl for one of my friends. He really likes owls.
This is the first time in a long time that I hand sewed something, but I think it still looks dandy!
I kinda wanna keep it.

Here he is "in" the tree in one of my tree tapestries:

and next to the tree pillow I made:

My friend is coming down for Halloween, & I owe him a tree tapestry. Since those take me forever to make, I made him a tree pillow!
It may not be the greatest thing, but I want to keep it, haha.
There is a little owl in the tree because he really likes them.
Hope you like!

The green owl in this picture is another one of his gifts:

The back of the pillow is just the solid turquoise.
18  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / khaki bag.. I'd say its reversable on: July 21, 2010 12:57:52 PM
I've always wanted to make a jean bag, but I unfortunately don't have any old jeans or know anyone with old jeans they'd like to give me. Instead, I'm stuck with my brother's old khakis. With a little bit of hand sewing and a little machine sewing those khakis came to form this creation:

Here's the khaki side:

Here's the lining or reverse side:

I realize that the khaki side is very boring; I haven't quite thought about what I would want to do with it.
My friend tells me to just keep it reversed; that way I will have pockets on the inside of my purse. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, but hopefully some idea pops up.

Hope you like =]
19  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: This guy needs GIRAFFES! on: June 21, 2010 05:28:24 PM
I was so excited when I saw the one million giraffe thing and this, I had to make and send in a giraffe of my own!

Sure, mine might not be the correct giraffe colors, but he's still awesome.

Btw, love your giraffes. Especially the big redish one on the left
20  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Granny square based slippers: a long process on: June 21, 2010 03:06:28 PM
These are absolutely gorgeous. I kind of want some for myself =]
I like the red ones very much.

Odd request, can we get a picture of the bottom of the slipper?
I'd just like to see how you maneuvered it.
Fantastic job and wonderful idea.
I love these.  Grin
