1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Gladiators on: April 26, 2008 07:51:56 PM
WOW. Wow wow wow.

I've already bought four pairs of glads (asfjhlkgdf shoe addiction) but I think I'm going to give thought to a recon. Yours look SO good!! Better than the Dior pair!

4  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / adhesive question... metal + leatherette? on: August 27, 2007 10:32:54 PM
Hey guys! I recently bought a bunch of flats at wholesale price and am in dire need of some customization help (otherwise I'd be in possession of 12 pairs of the same shoes...). The flats are made of leatherette and have a tiny bow at the top, which I can tear off easily. I have a couple of ideas for them but I've never altered shoes before and so I'm a little anxious.

What kind of glue can I use for leatherette? Will regular fabric glue from Walmart/Michael's/Hobby Lobby work? Also, I have a fake David Yurman bracelet that broke but can be salvaged as shoe embellishments. Is there a fabric glue that will attach leatherette and metal? Or will I have to hot-gun it?

Any advice would be appreciated!! Smiley

6  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Summer color cupcakes on: June 24, 2007 04:44:52 PM
Mmm, those look SO good! Also, I didn't know there was an International Fairy Day--that's totally killer. Cheesy
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Yoga mat bag on: June 24, 2007 04:43:40 PM
HAHAHAHA, I love it! I also had to click to confirm what the project was!

But dirty thoughts aside, the bag looks lovely. Smiley I need to make one for myself... I usually just carry the damn rolled up mat to and fro, which is kind of a nuisance.
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Smiley Kitchen Mugs on: June 24, 2007 04:08:37 PM
I love the tea bag! Hahaha, it cracks me up because the little dots remind me of a 5 o'clock shadow. <3 They are all gorgey!

10  UNITED STATES / Tennessee / Re: moving to tennessee... advice? on: June 21, 2007 07:04:59 PM
Ech. Try not to settle down in Memphis. Yes, we've got some decent bbq and one really nice library, but nightlife is pretty limited and Graceland is a joke. (Seriously, "Graceland" is just this wooden house with a huge lawn... and most of the tourists are old white people--not exactly the bar-hopping variety.) Also, Memphis has a surprisingly high crime rate.

I'd also have to point you to the direction of Nashville. Nashville is a well-rounded city, with plenty of bars/clubs, craft stores, shopping plazas, downtown music events, and other such things. Finding a job there will probably be more desirable too than landing one in Memphis.

As for Knoxville, the only exposure I've gotten is a couple of visits to the university there. As far as I can tell, it's a pretty nice place to party if you're a college student, but I'm not sure I'd want to do the whole living as an adult thing there.
