11  Re: stitch n' bitch felted marsupial tote in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by _Steph_ on: July 24, 2005 05:29:09 PM
for my felted tote, instead of 2 strands held together of the CC i used one strand of lamb's pride bulky - it is the same as 2 strands of worsted held together, and it was cheaper too! came out beautiful and it matched the 2-strands-held-together- cascade 220 i used for the MC perfectly, as far as thickness goes. here it is after i felted it...

i didn't use the s'nb pattern though i just worked one similar to it

'kay here it is.... i picked up too many stitches on the handle sides so it bows out pretty far on those sides - it is now more of a bucket style knitting bag than a purse! anyway here it is, pre-felt, then pre-shaving VBG.,.. I washed in 3 times and then put cloth inside it to get the moisture out... it is still drying.

14  Willy Wonka / Charlie & Chocolate Factory bag/purse -- pics in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by _Steph_ on: July 06, 2005 06:26:02 PM
Hi! I need some ideas, if y'all have any? I made this bag:

and because the stencil was so think and rolled etc, I spray-painted it. Then outlined in paint marker to clean it up a bit. Looks like it needs something... can you guys give me any ideas on what to do next?

15  1.5 yards of Skateboard Print Flannel! What to do?! in What the heck can I do with THIS? by _Steph_ on: June 24, 2005 05:57:36 PM
Alright, I went to the Fabric Store yesterday and they had this amazing, cheesy skateboard print flannal there for a dollar a yard! My husband has been a skater for 19 years now so I bought it and I am going to make him something, but can't decide what! (And Gah - did I give away the fact that we're OLD by telling you how long he's skated? LOL!! Started early, we're still in the 30's...)
Anyway it's for a guy, and one who doesn't carry bags, so I am at a loss... anyone with any ideas? I thought about making him a nice pillowcase so he can take it when he and his buddies go to other cities to skate - but I'd have like a yard left after that... any thoughts?

TIA!
Steph

16  Vegas/Casino night tote/diaper bag! :) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by _Steph_ on: June 17, 2005 02:25:13 PM
I just made this, I think it is so cute. I'm using it as a diaper bag, but it can be a tote as well. It's hard to tell from the pics, but the O-rings on the front hanging down have rhinestones all across them, they are sparkly Smiley ~ They came from a ribbon belt set from Kohl's, rhinestones and all ~When it is a diaper bag, those rings will clip to the twins' toys (they all have link-a-doos on them, their toys that is) and when it is a tote, they are purely decorative!

Just had to show someone, my husband is tired of me saying "Look what I made!!" LOL...

Is there a gallery for this swap? I didn't see one, so I'm posting here...
Okay my package shows as received as of Saturday, so I am going to post pix of what I sent to littleone ~ I hope she likes it!
Here goes:
The tote bag:

The wallet:

The velcro pouch:

The pouch inside:

The wallet inside:

All together now: Smiley

The butterfly pin and the butterfly bracelet (not pictured) were purchased - but since littleone's likes included butterflies, and they were so cute, I couldn't resist. Plus I pray it made up a little for my lack of sewing skills! Now my fingers are crossed that she loves them!!!

19  Some cute Applique'd Totes w/Pics!! (Img Heavy) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by _Steph_ on: June 07, 2005 07:58:05 PM
Alright now, I went on a crafting spree tonight! I found an old stash of tote bags that were give-aways from various places, like the kind you get free at the fair from the gas company? Anyway, I have been wanting a skull with needles instead of crossbones for a while now... hubby thinks knittin' is for grannies! So here's what I did... made 2 of those old totes + some checkerboard fabric into a new, rockin' tote bag for my current knitting project!!

(I didn't do the lining, really I just used the checkerboard as a backing - so 'scuse the raw edges...)

Then, I made this out of scrap fabric - it is a semi-Sublime Stitching technique, but the monkey is from one of my son's bibs, it is so cute! I love the tote, and it was my first bag that I put stuff on, all the other bags I have made have been 'plain', til now.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

Steph
