1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Fabric journal on: February 08, 2007 05:32:01 PM
I'm really excited about the journals I started making.  Both of them have pockets inside and elastic to hold the paper in so the paper is easily changed.
The first one is 4.5" by 6" closed.  I love the girl design on the cover, it's a replica of a Kurt Halsey drawing.  I made her out of felt, painted felt, t-shirt material, and embroidery.  She took a long time to make but I'm pleased with the results.  I want to make more like this but using my own drawings this time instead.

This is the inside of that same journal.

The second is 3" by 4 1/2" closed.  It's small and works well as a wallet journal.  This one is my own creature design and is just felt and embroidery.

This is a picture of the inside pocket that perfectly holds cards as well as cash.

The journals are nice because inside the fabric cover is plastic so it's washable.  I'm thinking about making more of these to sell with different designs so I'd appreciate any feedback you may have.
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Creepy anatomical toy idea on: February 08, 2007 05:16:29 PM
This is something I've been thinking about trying but haven't started the designing yet.  I'd like to make a toy/creature that has a flap somewhere on the body that you can open and see the inside.  For example: a flap you can open on the stomach and see fabric intestines.  It would be a pretty involved project but might turn out interesting.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Handbag featuring squid on: February 08, 2007 04:17:06 PM
I saw boo's post, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=104779.0 and was inspired to make my own version.
I love squids so that's what I decided to put on mine.

I also feel the need to line all my knit bags (who hasn't experienced stuff poking out of their knit bags) so I cut up an old blouse and used that fabric.  It has a button closure pocket inside.

I'm a newbie so I'm sorry I can't yet post pictures.
