1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Farmyard Frolics Patterns on: September 09, 2007 04:49:10 AM
Hi Everyone

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy the Patterns that came with Simply Knitting Magazine called Farmyard Frolics by Alan Dart.
I have looked where the magazines website told me to look, but I cant find it, and I would really love to have it to make my christmas presents with.

Thanks in advance
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Substituting Yarn on: September 06, 2007 02:26:08 AM
I dont know if there is a thread already but I need a bit of help. I am looking at "Knitting" magazine September 07 and I want to make the pattern which requires Bergere Aquarelle yarn which is 50% cotton and 50% acrylic. I can see the wool on the internet but I always try and support my local wool shop and would like to swap it for another yarn, but I dont know if this wool is Double Knit or what, I'd ask my local shop, but I dont think they'd be able to help me. Can any of you. I found a review of the yarn, but this is all it says and I dont think it helps.

COMPOSITION: 50% Cotton, 50% Acrylic

WEIGHT: 50g

LENGTH: 110m

REC NEEDLE SIZE: 4.5mm

RRP: 2.75

This cotton blend yarn is made from a knitted tube that forms a narrow, flat tape, which gives just a hint of texture when knitted. Aquarelle is available in eight shades - three solids and five with a stonewashed effect, giving an interesting mottled pattern when knitted. The sample is shown in shade Pourpre. There are 21 sts to 27 rows over 10cm using the recommended 4.5mm needles and this produces a light garment with good elasticity and a soft drape. A medium sized garment uses approximately 12 balls

Please can you help me?
