This thread is awesome.  I started to teach myself tatting a few months ago.  I had bought myself a shuttle years ago, and then recently inherited one with some of my grandmothers crafting things.  (Now I know where I get my fickle nature from - that woman tried EVERYTHING! )

It took me embarrassingly long to work out the flip - but then all of a sudden it all made sense. The YouTube videos there are really good.

I seem to have temporarily misplaced my shuttles now though. I put them somewhere "SAFE". ~sigh~ If I didn't have so much inCRedibly useful crAft suPplies they would be easier to find. The trouble is that I usually find something really interesting in my search and get distracted...lol

Very effective.  I love the red - it makes the buildings(?) look like they are bleeding.

I am sorry I missed this.  Although, being in Australia, I probably wouldn't have been much help.  I tend to buy things direct from our local miniatures store because the guys there give great advice.

I've been painting miniatures for nearly a year now.  If there is anything I can help with let me know.

Great effect.

I like how these turned out.  They are somewhat fragile, but being all growed up now, I think I can be careful enough with them.

I have more of the same style crystals so I am planning to try a few different ways to incorporate them into my jewellery.

I LOVE this!   It never would have occurred to me, but that would be a great idea for my Warhammer dice too.

I had some work published in a magazine, and a couple of months later a very similar item was for sale by an established company. The strange thing was that with the launch of this new product, the "designer" posted a long story about how she came up with the idea. I found it strange that she had never done that with her previous product launches, or to my knowledge since.

I was REALLY mad - for about 2 days.  Then I just thought, "Whatevah!" The published magazine is proof that the original design was mine. 

It just peed me off that someone not only stole my design, but was making money off it. I didn't know whether to be more offended or glad when the product didn't sell so well....lol
