1  Re: Be Awesome Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Dinosaurus Meg on: July 04, 2010 10:46:16 PM
I got the coolest set of coasters in the world (of Warcraft)! Belladune is the best partner, she found out I love WoW and she just had to make it her theme Cheesy She embroidered (so fine!!) some baby murlocs on a set of 4 coasters and colored them with crayons. How cool!! And she wet felted a tray to keep them in when I'm not drinking Conjured Glacier Water from flasks on my wonderful coasters (It's got +20 frost resist too, so I think I'm set!)

All together in action:

The tray: It's wet felted and has a really cool design on it, I've sort of thought of it as an all-seeing eye of Frost lol. Like the Eye of Sauron but for my coasters. Cause I'm a nerd.

The coasters (it's a matching set of four, my baby murloc quadruplets):

And a close up of the babies:

I love everything so much, thank you Belladune! <3 And I can't wait for you to get yours Smiley

Everything looks so beautiful! I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.

I have an extra picture of the scarf I made for Blupaisan with a better look at the color and lace. It was exactly one ball of 'bamboo ewe' bamboo/wool blend by Debbie Stoller. I need to make another, it was fun to make. Quick too!

Hehe, glad you guys like my little girl, she's crazy but just as sweet. She likes to play with my guinea pig when I let her, sort of weird I guess. They cuddle. Anyway, she likes to sit on my lap when I'm at the computer, too. Heaven forbid I get things done while she's sleeping! <3

I got my package from Blupaisan early as heck! But hey, I can't complain. Now I get to enjoy her presents while I make mine Cheesy

Here's everything together (well, almost everything): The drawstring bag is great, perfect size for my current knitting project and it's made from this cool fabric.. I don't know what it's called but it's basically waterproof and awesome. Cheesy The knotted puppy toy is the same material (sorry, no action shot yet, little Dex lives at his Papa's house). It's just stuffed so it'll be perfectly safe. And then there's the heat pillow. Already claime dby my mom, it will serve her well, I can already tell. The little heart in the picture is the instructions for the pillow, we can microwave it or put it in the oven Cheesy My mom is excited Cheesy

So here are some close ups of some things i liked best Wink

This super radical night light! She painted paper and then drew on the black design by hand Smiley I had no idea I needed a night light until it showed up in the mail. I'm pretty sure this one is my very favorite item (Although I do love watching my baby girl play with her catnip toy).

Butterfly necklace: I think it's carved wood? painted oh so prettily and on one of those bendy wire loops for the necklace part. Very pretty Cheesy

This one is probably my second favorite thing, pencil cup!! She made two layers of yarn around it for extra squishiness so I think it'll be perfect for stabbing my pins into when I embroider. Perfect!! I love it! Was is a pringles can? I love it so much Tongue

Thank you so much, Blupaisan, everything is great Cheesy

It's here it's here it's here!! My Green Tea Green package is here! Blupaisan sent the coolest package of goodies. So early, too! Now I get to enjoy my presents while I make hers Tongue

Here's the goods:
Ok, here's not the goods. I just realized I didn't upload the right ones to my photobucket (I'm at work) so I'll have to wait til I get home to upload the rest. But here's a fun pic of my kitty LOVING her present, it's a terry-cloth catnip toy and oh my goodness, she loves it so much! I took a short video of her crazy-love, I'm gonna put that on my blog tonight so I'll post a link. Right after I post pictures here, of course Tongue Thank you so much, Blupaisan!

Frejya loving her toy:

5  Re: Fiber Friday -- March 19, 2010 in Spinning: Completed Projects by Dinosaurus Meg on: March 19, 2010 10:32:00 PM
Great stuff this week, I love the one plied with white, so light and airy, but intense colors at the same time.

Here are a few of my first wheel yarns. I went to Stitches West and ended up with an Ashford Kiwi! Cutest thing, ever! I'll have to take pictures of a few still drying for next week. These are just my first completely finished yarns Tongue

My favorite first, I named it Banana Cream Pie. Spun from spinningtheweb's colorway Honey Comb, unknown yardage:

Purple, I keep calling it Meredith. Superwash Merino, 42 yds.

Mothwing: my first plied yarn, turned out a little wonky but i love it Cheesy, super lofty, 42 yds, super thin to bulky:

6  Cuddle Bean Love Bear! (Bad Bird) in Needlework: Completed Projects by Dinosaurus Meg on: October 23, 2008 09:14:28 PM
I used the lovebear pattern from Andrea Zuill's blog to make a little Cuddle Bear stuffie. There are no actual beans present in the creative process of this little creature, he's just cute like a bean. A Cuddle Bean! He doesn't have a name yet, any suggestions?

And to show off his cuddle squish:

And how about my real life cuddle bean just for fun:

Great packages so far, but wait till you see mine! Yayayayayayayay!!! I love everything I got here from weet! (aka my new best friend Wink)

First up: 3 skeins of handspun yarn each labeled with yardage and fiber content:

A close up of my two faves (purple one is going to be an 'Urchin' from knitty, so excited!) these are fairly true to color:

A book on handspinning (which I've already started reading) along with my very own spindle (which I've already started using.. sorta lol):

A whole bunch of roving to spin up along with koolaid and a whole mess of instructions on dyeing and spinning in addition to the book (So excited!):

This one is already dyed with koolaid dye:

Um, omg a chain mail bracelet! How cool is that!?

And omg omg omg omg soap! It's Almond honey vanilla (if I remember/smell correctly) and she actually sent me FOUR bars but I gave one to a friend since she said they smelled good and she's had a tough week ( a nice little smelly pick me up) and I also gave the one with giant bubbles to my mom today, she loved it Cheesy The other two are mine all mine! No way my bf is rubbin his stinky bt on my pretty soaps!

Yay!!! I got my package claim from mimik for heavy weighted fabrics for my wall organizer project Cheesy She even threw in some extras of some super awesome ribbons and trims! So the Big flowers is a nice canvas, the diamonds is sort of like tapestry/upholstery fabric, the stripes is vintage and the pink/green flowers is this super cool velvety velour something or other. Awesome!!

And a close up of those cute mushrooms and flowers:

Thank you so much, I can't wait to make some pretty things out of my exiting new materials Cheesy

9  Jew 4 Life! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Dinosaurus Meg on: July 06, 2008 12:35:32 PM
Hey there my crafty friends, here is the Jew Bag: The ultimate crafty Jewish lady's carry-all. I made this for my friend after going on a trip to the fabric store and finding this super awesome Happy Channukah fabric. At first it was just the white we found and I was going to make something smaller for her but then I went back and found the blue just enough for a tote! And the Jew Bag was born. I wanted to make it super over the top and just a *tad* tacky and my friend was all for it.

The front (I dunno if you can see it but the snap is centered in a little Star of David):

The back:

The lining fabric:

Close up of the front applique (the dot for the I is a little Star of David):

Close up of the back applique (larger interlocking Star of David with a little star centered in the middle:

There are a couple more pics on Lilyvanilli's picture hosting seeing as she was kind enough to take pictures for me cause my camera is lame Cheesy (Thanks Lily!)

Please tell me what you think, this is by far one of my favorite projects I've made.

10  Re: Swap a Yard of Fabric May/June in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Dinosaurus Meg on: June 16, 2008 02:50:07 PM
Claim claim claim!!!

place holder while I decide what I want other than those awesome cameras Cheesy

Ok, so I claim Purpleone for the FQ camera fabric and the 1/2 yard linen. (Stickin to 3/4 this claim Tongue)

Ok, so in addition to what I have here I also have up to a yard of white/navy stripe cotton that I will post a picture of when I get hom around 7pm PST. I'll see what else I have too.

Brown & Blue Flowers: Up to one yard. The strip of orange pattern is only along one side and it's about 4.5" wide.
Brown & White Gingham: Up to one yard. This fabric is not sheer, but it is thin and when light shines through you can see goodies behind it Tongue

White with little blue bell flowers: 1/4 yard. This one is also a little on the thin side.
Blue with red whales in sailor hats

If my Pics suck, let me know. I have a scanner but not a camera that's readily available Tongue

I apologize for the slim pickins on my fabrics at the moment, but if no one sees anything they like by the time I get home from work I'll be sure to find more to add.
