Can you tape matching hemp to the ends?  It would probably be better to do that when you started maybe.  Or you can wire wrap a closure on the ends.

Hope that helps - those bracelets are cool.  WIll you post a picture when you decide how to close them?

163  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Fraggle Hat? = Fraggle Purse! on: July 07, 2004 08:51:34 AM
Thanks!  It worked up really fast!  I'm going to make another in pink and red after I finish my felted bag.
164  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Fraggle Hat? = Fraggle Purse! on: July 02, 2004 03:12:14 AM
I don't remember who posted the fraggle hat - but I thought it was really cool.  I was even on the first coupla rows of it when I realized I live in soCal and my hat wearing times are short and I wanted to fraggle now.  So, I turned it into a purse.  Prob'ly someone's already thought of that, but it's new to me!

It's lined with a cotton fabric (that is too short for the bag, but at the last minute I decided to show the border.) The straps are four strands chains - 3 black and 1 of the b/w ribbon.  Got the black yarn at the thrift.

Can't wait to carry it!  I love my purse!

165  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: I need HELP with RESIN CASTING!!! on: June 30, 2004 02:47:31 PM
Have you tried Envirotex?  It is a 2 part resin hardener.  The only time I have gotten sticky results is when I've gotten the measurements off.  Don't use in humid weather or in a damp area, because moisture will collect and may also make your final product sticky.  Um....what else.... Oh!  I use little disposable plastic cups like the ones that come with cough syrup for kids - that way the measures are spot on.  The envirotex takes equal parts though - so you could use any constant measure.  The only other thing I can think of for a 2 part resin to come out sticky is the combo isn't be mixed enough.

THANKS!

It is very small - about 1"x1.5".  I half double crocheted it lengthwise.  It makes more sense to do it as one piece I guess, but I didn't know what it was going to look like when I started, so I did it as two.  Plus I liked that the different color yarns were used to stitch up the sides - kind of brings the whole thing together.  With a much bigger piece, I'd probably work it double stranded so it wouldn't sag in the middle.

Hi, I'm new here but I've been busy reading for the last week or so.

I've recently been possessed by crocheting.  Here's a medicine bag I made for a friend's mom who was looking for something nice to carry her nitro in.

I made the bag part in 2 pieces and stitched them together with the multi-color fibers that are in the fringe.
