Here's my first attempt at the transfer thing:
I'm sure I did a few things wrong, as I'm impulsive and I didn't do my research and barely followed the instructions that came with my paper.
I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but there are areas where the paper didn't come off and I had to scrape at the little pieces that were stuck. The shirt I used has 2% spandex, so I'm wondering if that had something to do with the problem. Also, I'm using paper that came with the printer I had two printers before the one I have now (I've been meaning to try it out, really) so I'm wondering if that might have contributed to the problem as well. These are Canon t-shirt transfers, BTW.
Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to trying it out again once I hit the thrifts and find some more shirts.
The image is of chairs designed by Paul McCobb that we like to collect and use with our dining room table. I found the picture online and converted it to duotone in Photoshop. I'm trying to get results good enough that I can make a shirt for my boyfriend - he caught me picking at the transfer paper stuck on the shirt and thought the image was incredibly cool, so really, I'm halfway there.
