1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Emily Strange Self-Zipping Coin Purse on: September 13, 2011 08:15:22 PM
I found the idea and tutorial for this change purse here:
http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2011/08/make-self-zipping-coin-purse-from.html

The tutorial is on the Craft Passion website here:
http://www.craftpassion.com/2011/07/zip-itself-coin-purse-tutorial.html

The tutorial uses ribbon but all of my ribbons were too wide.  However, I had a some awesome Emily Strange shoelaces hang around not doing anything so I used them instead and they worked just as well.  The tutorial is easy to follow for the most part but I hate working zippers and this coin purse definitely reminded me of that seeing that it is all zipper.

Doing its job.

Completely zipped it forms a pyramid shape.

Partially unzipped.

Totally unzipped.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Market Bag take 2 on: August 29, 2011 02:13:57 PM
Had some free time while we had no electric so I made another, smaller net market bag.  Used Lily Sugar'n Cream Naturals and an H hook.
No pattern just kinda winged it.

4  COOKING / Dessert / My gingerbread house for 08 on: December 26, 2008 09:59:06 AM
I make gingerbread cookies every year but this year I decided to make my first real attempt at a gingerbread house.  The gingerbread and royal icing recipe are Martha Stewart's, which I use every year, it is really spicy and can be super hard so it worked well for the house.  The building pattern I created and then I just kinda winged it on the construction.  I am really happy with how it came out maybe next year I will try something more complicated.

This is the front of the house. The window panes are melted butterscotch hard candies.

This is the back. Both sidewalks were done with Necco wafers.

This one side of the house.

This is the other side of the house.  The peanut chimney is my favorite part.
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Second crochet - beach/ market bag on: June 11, 2008 08:39:20 PM
Thanks, I didn't use a pattern, I just kinda made it up as I went along.
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Second crochet - beach/ market bag on: June 11, 2008 10:41:04 AM
So I have been waiting for my job to start for the summer and I have been really bored.  Naturally I turned to crafting.  More specifically I tried my hand at crocheting again, after making a horrible hat last winter.  I think I actually got it this time.  I have wanted to make a mesh bag for shopping and the beach, so using my new found crocheting ability, here it is.  I used Peaches and creme yarn (winterberry) and an H hook.

The bag is a little bigger than I wanted but for making it up as I went a long I am pretty happy with it.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting Classes around Lancaster, Pa USA on: January 09, 2008 10:05:17 PM
Hey everyone,
I posted this in the City Guide forum too but I figured I might get a better response here.  Well, I am going back to school in the Lancaster Pennsylvania Area and I am trying to find somewhere that I can take knitting classes.  I taught myself the basic cast on and off and knit/ purl stuff.  Now I would love to stop making squares/ scarves and start really knitting.  I need help!!!   I would appreciate any info you have, Thanks.

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Cuddly Companion Cube for Christmas on: January 08, 2008 08:51:21 PM
Wow, I was actually thinking today of making something similar to this for my boyfriends birthday.  He also played Portal obsessively.  He loved the companion cube and the fact that the cake was a lie.  Your stuffy is very cute, you did a great job.

Cheesy Oh it's very cute, did you use Simplicity 4668?  I have been thinking about using that pattern but I wasn't sure of the size, I think you might have convinced me.
