Just finished:  the third wallet to be destroyed by my boyfriend

My attempt at a new method to keep his 300 id's/cards actually in the wallet. 

A closure will be added after everything is in it and its at its full thickness... i can post pics of that later.

As promised... its tutorial time!   

Step 1... cut out the pieces...

from top to bottom... id window frame, id window plastic,  pockets for cards (cut slits for cards), outer vinyl, outer money/card pocket piece, inner pocket lining (secret message not necessary)

Step 2... take your outer pocket piece (the doubled over fabric... you may want to iron some interfacing between the layers)
and pin the card pockets to ONE LAYER ONLY and then sew them on to ONLY that one layer (it would still work if you sewed through both layers, you'd just be able to see the other side of stitching when you put money into the wallet...
Might be worth mentioning that the folded edge should be the top, to avoid extra sewing.


Step 3... position the id pocket on the outside of the wallet and sew it on!  Remember to keep one side open!!!
 

Step 4...  flip your outer piece so that right sides are facing and sew to your dimensions.  Don't forget to leave a small opening so you can flip it right side out and to clp the corners!  Oh yeah, and then sew up the hole thats left behind.


Step 5...  take whatever fabric (if any) you are using as the inner lining for the pocket, fold under the edges (iron if you want, it helps it keep the shape) and just sew the top to the outer vinyl for now. 


Step 6...  line up the outer pocket piece with the piece you just sewed (the outer vinyl and inner pocket fabric) and sew every side but the top.    the cloer you stay to the edge the easier it will be. 



Not included in the tutorial:  Any type of closure, so be sure not to forget if you want one!

is a cute necklace sold at Urban Outfitters.  Its actually not too pricy, but when I picked it up in the store, it STUNK! 
And made my hands smell all day.  Not a quality I look for in a necklace. 


No worries, I made my own version:

I did intend to make it more strands, but the beaded strand takes for-ev-er!  I'll get around to it eventually, but it does the job for now.   

I just happened to get a dog, and I wanted something cooler then those dumb metal circles, so I was super excited to find this!

The Undies were made with contact paper stencils and for the boxers I tried freezer paper... and LOVED it!  Definitley the way to go.  To bad it can only be used one time.

"His" undies:

This one bled from too-watered-down paints, so I overlapped just the H in green.  It turned out much better than I thought.


"Hers" boxers:

Due to too many classes the past year and lack of anything kicking me in the butt to get going, my boyfriends presents took a lot longer than they should have.  But his presents to me took just as long, so no hard feelings



Its got his fav band on the front.  I stenciled it in three parts.  Not a fun stencil to cut out, by the way.  Here's a detail of the front:

 

It was painful enough (but worth it) to shell out the cash for the Ipod.  I'm not about to waste $30+ on a case for the darn thing!  I'm not much of a cozy kinda gal, so when I saw these --- http://thinkdifferentstore.com/product_info.php/cPath/115_87/products_id/944  I knew I had to make one.

Here's my attempt.  




Its a lot less structured looking, and was more of a pain in the butt to make than i was expecting.  However, it gets the job done and keeps things in my purse from dinging up my ipod!

The fabric is all new, but I stuffed these bad boys with the stuffing I got after ripping apart my old ones.  These are the first 2.  I plan on making more, but they took much longer than I had expected!
