2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / copper and resin ring on: December 21, 2008 04:41:44 PM
this ring was modeled after the Guggenheim Museum in New York.  i used copper scraps and rolled them out and cut them into strips and silver soldered into rings. they are all held together with a brass rivet.  i molded a piece of sheet wax around one side poured the resin in.

so.. any thoughts?
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / copper necklace on: October 21, 2008 04:22:51 PM
i was inspired by VintageBlueStudio's posting of copper pendants & charms so i decided to make my own!

this is the nearly true to the colors.

this shows the hammer work well.

made the copper from a little scrap i found sitting around my metal working class, rolled out and hammered.  it makes a really great noise when you walk/move around.
i loves it!  Smiley
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / [img heavy] nerd alert! video game costume (HALP! please) on: October 05, 2008 02:03:14 AM
alright, so i decided that i couldn't be a zombie again this year.  i decided to go as Tira from Soul Calibur 4.  i'm having some problems with certain parts of this so if anyone could help me i would be more than greatful for the advice! Smiley

i'm trying to recycle as much stuff as i can, and buying fabric and other stuff as needed.

so here is the idea in its entirety.. (i had to take pictures from my tv Cheesy)

front:

-i have worked out a sort of pattern (my torso is much shorter than i would have thought! lol) by cutting up an old tube top (bleh) so now i just need to find some large pieces of paper (probably at school)
-i'm not too sure what to do about the whole puffy sleeve thing.  i don't even know what they are called, if they have a name.

back:

-yikes..

head:

-the boyfriend found me a jester hat at the store today, but it has 3 points instead of the 2 i'm looking for. anyone know of a pattern? or know of the general shape i should be cutting those (i'm guessing triangles..)
-i may just scrap this and do crazy hair instead.

i'm also making one of her ring blades (i bought a hula hoop!) most likely cardboard and papermache. i'm just having a hard time deciding which to make... any preferences?  Grin

overall i think i've gotten myself in waaaaaaaaaay over my head.  any help or suggestions or nudges in the right direction are much appreciated!
