1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Creative ways to wrap giftcards with Grandma? on: December 17, 2007 06:10:10 PM
Any craftsters have any good ideas for wrapping giftcards? I am doing the christmas shopping for my grandma, who is in the hospital and she said just to get everyone gift cards, but I want a creative and simple way to wrap them with her. Shes in the hospital, so I'm thinking easy and little mess...maybe some light hand sewing or paper crafts?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / I need the Flaming Lips props for my boyfriend- HELP. on: October 07, 2007 09:32:16 AM
The Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne came out on stage wearing a set of giant hands...they were amazing and my SO was floored and won't stop talking about how much he wants them. I'm hoping to make/buy a pair for him for Halloween or our wedding (don't ask me why those two occasions compare).

Any ideas? I've called costume shops and nobody has any ideas. The hands were light enough to raise over your head and they reached from where Wayne's real hands were to the floor. Any suggestions appreciated.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Father's Day / for BBQ dads on: June 03, 2007 03:42:03 PM
My dad loves to cook and just got a new grill, so I went to Target for grill tools and they're in the $1 bins right now, in case any of you craftsters are stuck on what to get Dad. They have tongs, spatulas and those two-pronged pokey things.

Anybody have a pattern for a grill cover? Its a pretty small, rectangular gas grill.
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Race for the Cure gifts? T shirts? on: May 14, 2007 01:23:35 PM
The local Race for the Cure is coming up (June 16th) and I want to make something for all the people who are walking with my group. Last year I made tutus, but I want something less complicated...a tote or a t shirt...

Unfortunately "I love boobs" is played out...St. Louis University used it for their Relay for Life...

Any crafty people have some good ideas to make my mom laugh? Group is male and female, ages 18 to 55, some dogs are coming too.

Looking forward to all the ideas.
