Okay, so I have this weird niche in my living room, and I needed something new to decorate the area. I wanted something funky and colorful to match the rest of the area. So here it is.



I used some kind of thick bendable wire that my husband had, some wooden beads, paint, a ceramic pot, and some filler. Voila.

Here's my clock!
I've always wanted a George Nelson Atomic Ball clock (popular in the 50's and 60's). I finally decided to make one, when I was trying to think of something large to hang in my living room above my entertainment niche. And then this challenge was announced! My DH gets major credit for this one, since he did all the cutting and drilling. But the design adaptation was mine, and I did the painting.
The clock is made entirely of wood and metal, measures 34" in diameter and is fully functional, not to mention great for us adults who are too blind to read the clock on the cable box!

OK here goes nothing. I'm extremely new here, and this is my first real post, but I'm so excited about this project, I had to share! A little background: I found this site while looking for craft ideas, (as I'm sure most have). I'm a coca-cola freak, and I love all things kitschy, retro, mod... or just plain different. While browsing the forums, I came across a thread from someone looking for ideas for soda cans. Within that thread I found this post:

Well... I decided I HAD to have that mirror... BAD! Okay, well not $1200 bad though... so off to the workshop.
My DH built this lovely frame for me, to specifications for the wall I am going to hang it on, and 2 weeks and lots of soda drinking later... VOILA!
