I am the same way.  I knit a lot more at school then home too, cause my dormroom is freezing all the time.

Ah, see, I'm anemic, so more often than not, I'm freezing randomly.
My friend (and roommate next year - I finally decided on a college) is always knitting cause her room up at Uni is always freezing.
I am trying to anticipate this.
I'm knitting now.  I want my first sweater done by Thanksgiving.
I give myself that timeframe because I am broke and need yarn.
Also, it'll be some nice mindless knitting (mine'll be plain, stitchwise, but striped) for some of my lecture classes.
They didn't turn her heat on until the first week of DECEMBER.

Ugh the first week of December is ridiculous!  I go to school in Northern Vermont and I swear the heat in my room is broken.  I am constantly wearing big sweat shirts while under all my blankets.  It has given me inspiration for knitting though.  I made alpaca arm warmers for my self that I am always wearing while knitting.  Last year I crocheted a huge blanket just so I could snuggle up under it while working on it.

I love going to knitpicks and buying super cheap yarn, so I put 2-4, but when
I shop for yarn with my Mom we go to LYS and have to spend a lot to get silk blends because she has wool allergies and I'm not willing to knit pure acrylic or pure cotton.

Yeah, the KnitPicks is great.
Uhm...I'm hoping she didn't want us to include shipping.
But then, when I order from KP, I usually get something other than yarn as well, cause it's usually my main reason for going there...
I just sort of...end up with the yarn?

Haha ME TOO!  I go on the buy options and check out with four skeins on top of that (but at least I got free shipping!)

 
To me, the weather is Always suitable for knitting. 

It might just be me, but I tend to cut back on my knitting a LOT in the warmer months.  My hands sweat >.<

Thanks for the chart and the advice about going up a size.  Now my question is how much ease I should incorporate into the sweater.  I know that I don't want to make it 21 inches, but I am not sure how much bigger I should make it to end up with a comfy sweater.

Okay, so when it comes to sizing, I am always uber paranoid.  First I think an article is too big, then too small, then to big then I rip it out and start all over, thinking that it is too big and make it bigger, only to realize when I finish that the hat is ginormous. 

Right now I am working on a baby sweater.  I am sure you are all getting sick of my questions by now, since there have been many.  What I need to know now is how big I should make the circumference for an 18-24 month old side.  I would like to ere on the side of being big rather then small, so that it will fit him for next fall (he will be 18 in Novemeber).  When looking at baby clothes this weekend at a shower, I was shocked by how big even the newborn-3 month sizes seemed to me. 

If any mothers/anyone who knits for children could chime in on this I would really appreciate it.

When I couldn't find a pattern I liked for a sweater for a one year old little boy, I decided to design my own.  I am making a top down pullover raglan and can't decide how I want to divide it before making the increases.  The neck is done in ribbing with 64 stitches around.  I just want figure out in what proportions I should divide the front, back and each sleeve.
