thats really cool. I never thought of buffaloes as having furry hair either. btw, I totally understand the whole hearting Mike Rowe thing lol. I could watch dirty jobs for hours
I have already started lol, but thats only because I bought a bunch of stuff from knitpicks to make socks. My four best friends at school are each getting a different pattern in different colors. I started the first pair this weekend, cause I was sick and didn't want to go out with them.
I got an order in from knitpicks with a bunch of sock yarn. It is all either essentials multis or felici self striping. I know that not all patterns look good with multi colored yarn but I hate doing just straight stockinette. I was wondering what some of your favorite sock patterns are that you have done in multicolored yarn.
So while I was home on spring break, I informed my mom of my plans to buy the full set of harmony sock needles from knitpicks. Since my mom is incredibly awesome, she told me to use my emergency credit card to pay for it all. She told me how much to spend, so I need to decide what sock yarn I want to buy. I am thinking that I want to get the Essentials sock yarn Multi colored, but I want to be sure that it is more variagated than self striping.
Does anyone have any experience with this yarn? I just want to make sure that I am not gonna be disapointed, especially since the pictures are kinda small and don't really show me what I want to see.
When I made one for my cousin, I did it to be about 36". Big enough to snuggle with even as a toddler. I wanted to make sure it got a lot use, not just for that first year.
Just wanted to thank everyone again for all the help and links!
Redwitch: You suggested exactly what I wanted to do (measuring other garments of similar builds and uses) but since I am currently at school I don't really have access to any baby clothes, or a car to go snoop at walmart or another store.
what I ended up doing was going to the DROPS website and looking at some of there schematics for comparison. It gave me a great idea of what to expect in baby clothes sizes.
Did anyone else use the Oscars to knit? Maybe we should start a new thread lol.
I did! I did! I worked on my baby sweater That looks beautiful. I absolutely love the pattern, especially with that yarn! you are moving through it quickly too.
