1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Make Me a Hat round 3? on: November 01, 2011 12:33:59 PM
Sorry I fell off the face of the earth! I'm working three jobs and volunteering so I don't have enough time to dedicate to organizing. If someone else would like to take this on, I'd love to see the results!

Good enough, thank you.

You're welcome. You were very right when you said this was a discussion thread Smiley

I'd love more stitch markers. My partners from the last SM swap gave me some really awesome markers!

This is one of my favourite swaps! I had to miss last year (stupid post-grad) I'm going to try my hardest to fit it in my budget this year!

Sorry guys, for now this is still a yarnie swap.
Why? I mean, I'm a yarnie (and them some), but what if yarnies want a non-yarnied hat?  Why can't we have qs on the q'airre saying "what can you make?" and "what do you want in return?" That would be cool.
No hostility! Just going for discussion with this because this is a discussion thread, right?

There are a few reasons why its a yarnies swap. Foremost is because its meant to be a low pressure swap for all involved, including the organizer! And adding non-knitting/crochet hats to the mix makes matching up partners a lot harder and creates more opportunity for one partner to feel shortchanged.

A secondary reason was originally this swap was started as a chance for yarnies to show off their skills. That being said, extras have always been allowed and non-yarn crafts can always be negotiated between partners.

7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Breathless waiting for Breaking Dawn (signup thru Sept. 16; sendouts Nov. 4) on: September 07, 2011 08:31:41 AM
I haven't swapped in months, but I may have to break my swap-fast with this one!

So it's been a while, and fall is right around the corner so I think it may be time to revive this swap! It's been a fun one in the past. Any interest? Requirements would be the same (1 knitted or crocheted hat, with any extras decided on between partners) and a nice long crafting period to keep it low pressure.
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Nautical but nice - my first quilt! on: September 06, 2011 06:59:27 PM
Very cool! I love the ripply quilting on the border.
