1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Treasury FAQs on: November 20, 2006 09:46:40 AM
Is there no more room for treasuries now on etsy?  I tried to make one last night but I couldn't...
2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Why doesn't my store come up in searches? on: November 13, 2006 06:57:22 PM
I have no idea why my store doesn't pop up when I search for "fuzzy purple scarf" or whatnot.  Don't searches look at tags?  I think mine are ok...

Here's my store link so you can see if I'm doing things right or not: http://lucindac.etsy.com

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / My armholes are too small! on: October 30, 2006 06:02:15 PM
It's been awhile for me to get around to this but...

I finished Knitscene's Platinum about three weeks ago, and I definitely think it's one of the best things that I've made.  But I was absolutely sick when I tried it on, totally finished, and the armholes were way too small (and I was in gauge).  It was just plain uncomfortable to have it on for even 5 minutes.  So, frustrated, I just stuffed it into my knitting bag where it now lives, taunting me!   Undecided

Is there anything I can do to fix this?  I highly doubt that blocking is going to do that much.  Plus, I think there might be something wrong with the pattern since when I finished off the neck, I couldn't get my head in (and I have the smallest head known to mankind)!  I had to redo it about two other times, and even then it was a tight squeeze.

Help, anyone???
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Ms. Golightly Headscarf (Now with link to pattern on page 1) on: August 07, 2006 01:01:01 PM
This was a submission for Knitty that didn't make it in the Extremities issue.  I can finally post it now!

Even though I designed it as a headscarf, I like it much better as a regular scarf.  It's nice for the days where there's a little bit of a chill in the air, but not cold enough for a big wooly number.

**UPDATED 8/8/06**  Pattern for download here!  http://jetricotepourmoi.blogspirit.com/archive/2006/08/08/you-want-it-you-got-it.html
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My finished Vintage Knits Cami....finally! on: August 06, 2006 03:01:43 PM
It took almost a year to start, leave it, and then get back to finishing it, but I'm done!

Not really pleased how it turned out though...The fitting is terrible.  Too boxy, not long enough (of course, it would have helped if the pattern had listed the finished length WITH the straps), straps were too long and had to be adjusted, and the trim doesn't stand up nicely like in the picture, even after blocking.  I also couldn't figure out how the hell to thread the damn thing with ribbon (look at the picture as a guide, the directions said. Nice.), so I just did it around the top and it's fine.  I don't think I'd wear it alone, probably with a cami, or over another cami since it's too short on me.  Oh well!
6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Should I Not Sell On Etsy?.... on: August 06, 2006 02:24:31 PM
Im pondering the idea of setting up a story on Etsy.com.  When I was a senior in high school, I was invited to sell some of knitted stuff at our schools first Arts Fest.  I broke even and made about a $200 profit, but even though I sold a lot of stuff, I still have a lot left over thats been hanging out in my room at home since then, for about 2 years now.  I thought that I could possibly sell it online, but didnt know where until I found Etsy.  The thing is, so many people on there already sell knitted fuzzy scarves, which arent as popular now, and most of the people who shop on Etsy are crafters who know about it from word of mouth or also have shops set up on the site.

I could just go ahead and set everything up and see what happens, but the thing is I would need to haul all that bulky stuff up in the car with me to school, and space is even more limited this year since I need to bring up pots and pans and whatnot for my apartment.  I could really use some of the cash though if something sold.sigh.  What to do.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Wool of the Andes: softness on: May 16, 2006 06:36:08 PM
For those of you who have used KnitPicks Wool of the Andes, how soft is it since it's 100% Peruvian wool?  I was thinking about using it for a cardigan but I'm not sure quite yet.

It would be worn over camis and tees in the fall as a transitional piece, but I'm afraid it'll be too scratchy on my arms.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / HELP!! How to pick up a dropped yarn-over??? on: May 15, 2006 07:32:10 PM
I have an emergency!!  I dropped a yarn-over about 2 rows down, and I'm wondering how on earth do I pick it back up?  Shocked I'm afraid if I go back and rip out the rows, it'll only fall down further since it's a delicate piece.  Does anyone know??  Embarrassed Cry
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Stitch Dictionary website? on: May 14, 2006 10:10:52 AM
Does anyone have any other sites besides about.com that they use as a reference for stitch patterns?  The ones that they offer on about.com are either basic (like the cables) or don't really strike my fancy.  I've been scouring across the internet and can't seem to find anything else.  Help?  Huh
