1  Mary Jane baby shoes in Crochet: Completed Projects by Fire-Cherry on: April 23, 2009 02:53:08 AM
For easter I decided to teach myself to crochet so as to crochet a cute easter chick for my niece. Having achieved this I went upwards and onwards and decided to crochet some mary jane shoes for my daughter who is now 6 weeks old. I looked at lots of patterns but the only really nice ones I could see I had to pay for, and as a beginner I wasn't overly confident I would be able to follow the patterns. Instead of following a pattern... why don't I just wing it and see what happens? So I did, and here is my FO! I was highly impressed with myself, writing, crocheting and getting a half-decent FO at the end of it! All with only being able to do sc and a simple decrease!!

They are crocheted in 1 piece, sole up and I purposely kept the sole "inside out" because I thought the spiral pattern looked more "sole like" if there is such a thing!! (I haven't darned the ends in or added a button yet!)

I finished them both in a couple of hrs

4  Anthropologie style capelet/shrug in Knitting: Completed Projects by Fire-Cherry on: May 08, 2007 07:59:38 AM
I just finished knitting it and dont have a button for it yet, hence why it's tied with scrap yarn! The weird wire poking out the bottom of my top is a heart monitor I have on for today, so just ignore that.

It is knitted in Freedom by Twilleys of Stamford on size 9mm needles
