Hot hot hot! I love the harness.  Wherever did you get purple pvc? Internets?  I can only find black, red, silver and pink pvc in stores around Halloween.  And ah, cable ties make really good boning, I doubled up on it for a bodice once and it was almost like spring steel  Grin
175  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Crowned Skull, Daft Punk, and I heart Jared Leto shirts! on: January 02, 2007 01:47:39 PM
I let the shirt dry, then I handwashed the shirt in cold water with a tiny amount of detergent, and threw 'em into the dryer.

And I agree, when MSCL was really popular I didn't like Jared Leto at all, but now? He gives me the vapors.

These are my first stenciled projects, and I think they turned out great!  I like the bleach stenciling a lot better than paint stenciling-it's quicker and it gives a really neat disheveled effect.

Here is my friend with the awesome Daft Punk shirt I made for him:

The skull wearing a crown shirt I made for myself:

The I Heart Jared Leto shirtI made for my friend. The nose got kinda messed up  Sad

A ruffling foot is something you can get at a fabric store (or at least it is something my store carries), I used to have a Greist one that exploded mid-ruffle, and so I bought a White brand one. i think White is the only brand that makes ruffling feet, and they cost about $16.  I make a lot of ruffles, so the ruffling foot is God's greatest gift to mankind.

Step 4 is the leftover fabric that will be the ruffle.

Cut the leftover fabric in half, and sew the two strips of fabric together. This will make a giant strip of fabric, which is good because you need a really long piece of fabric to ruffle with. Once the long strip is ruffled, attach it to the skirt (the red outlined thing in the tutorial). Finish all edges.
