Hankies are coming back. Not only are they good for the environment, but do you really want to take a crumpled old Kleenex out of the pocket of the coat you're wearing for the first time since last winter, instead of a lovely embroidered handkerchief?
So I made some cute ones to give away and keep. So far I have four finished, and am working on a matching tea towel and some more hankies.
I made a beret. It was really really quick. Like, an hour. I spun the brown yarn, the variegated is from a swap I participated in. I love this hat. It's so open and sparkly and wonderful. Did I mention it was quick, too?
I recieved my very last package from LizzieMcguire!
Inside were a lovely slouchy hat(I've worn it for the past two days!), a bunch of red roving that she dyed herself with kool-aid, a Breakfast at Tiffany's napkin, two blue stitch markers, a scarf for my Blythe, and a matching necklace and earrings. With a cloud!
Oh, my! These yarns are so lovely. I have only just started spinning, and here is some yarn that I made, out of natural brown wool. I got it in a swap. I love it. I have another skein that my Swap Partner spun. I am thinking a tam, or thick handwarmers.
So I have this thing for things that keep my hands warm. I just really hate to have cold hands. Which sucks, because I always do. So fingerless mittens and gloves are a godsend for me. My dexterity is not hindered, but I am not freezing, either. Yay!
Now, onto the pictures!
The two together, layed over in an arty way :
On my hand. It is harder than you would think to get an action shot of both, when you're alone in the house. I suppose I could have asked the mailman, but I'm not that intimate with him.
Just because I can. And I think it's cute.
Pattern is forthcoming on my blog. I just really don't want to draw up a graph in Paint. Le sigh. Anyways, yeah. My lovely little handwarmers. So much nicer than the plain black acrylic ones I had been using for a while *cough*two years*cough*
Kay, so here is the first product of my new spindle (thanks so much, LizzieMcguire!) Yeah. It's not that great, really uneven, overspun in some places, underspun in others. Smells rather strongly of barn. However, I love it.
